One Laptop Per Child Aim • The mission of One Laptop per Child (OLPC) is to empower the children of developing countries to learn by providing one connected laptop to every school-age child • Most of the nearly two billion children in the emerging world don’t have access to adequate education. The XO laptop is our answer to this crisis OLPC was founded by Nicholas Negroponte with a core of Media Lab veterans(Pictured Above)
Costs and Production • Higher volumes production of these laptops decrease individual overall cost per laptop • Free Software • Cheap Hardware
Give one get one(G1G1) Program Customers can buy a laptop and give one for $399 or simply give one for $199 (can be done with amazon.com)
