  2. Definition of Wetland • A lowland area, such as a marsh or swamp, that is saturated with moisture, especially when thought of as the natural habitat of wildlife.

  3. Some animals that live in NH wetlands Great blue herons Salamanders Ribbon snakes Muskrats Beavers Odonata Painted turtles Chorus frogs Marsh wren Minks Frogs White tailed deer

  4. Description of a Marsh They are very important habitats for reptiles and amphibians and other creatures that live in or near the water. They are frequently filled with water but do not always contain it. They have a lot of vegetation that grows in the water.

  5. Peatland • Description • Peat makes up a lot of peatlands which is where the name comes from. • Peat is a form of moss. • Definition • A Peatland is an extensive tract of land where peat has formed.

  6. Description of a Swamp A swamp is a tract of wet, spongy land, often having a growth of certain types of trees and other vegetation such as swamp oaks, bangalow palm, and many others.

  7. Interactions of Wildlife and Habitats • Swamps • Tadpoles eat the algae in the swamp • Marshes • Turtles eat everything preventing overpopulation • Peatlands • Moose eat peat moss out of the peatlands
