Will gets rejected by all the mentors because of his size. he gets chosen to become an apprentice to the Ranger named Halt. Halt is a ranger who belongs to the ranger corps which is a group of tacticians that is council to the king. Many people believe the rangers are sorcerers because of their ability to blend away into the background. People are scared of them and they are normally isolated because of it.
