  2. Etiology • Nonspecific vaginitis • Sexually transmitted disease • Other infection causes • Congenital anomalies • Chemical disorders • Skin disorders • Systemic illness • Genital trauma • Foreign body • Urologic disorders • Precocious puberty • Carcinoma

  3. AUB : • the most frequent gynecologic complaints • Sequelae : anemia, cancer, infertility • Treat ment : observation , pharmacologic , surgical

  4. Goals : • Establishment • Correction of anemia • Normal pattern • Prevention of recurrence • Prevention of long term anovulation

  5. DUB : • Mild DUB : observation , iron supplementation • Moderate DUB : OCP , progestin alone • Severe DUB : estrogen , HD , progestin alone

  6. Others : • Aminocaproic acid : 5 gr. PO , followed by 1 gr.Per hour until 8 hours • Desmopressin : 0.3 mcg/kg IV over 15 to 30 min • Surgical therapy
