  2. “FAITH!” “…marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.” (Mat. 8:10)

(Mark 1:43-45) And He strictly warned him and sent him away at once, and said to him, "See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them." However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was outside in deserted places; and they came to Him from every direction.   20. Complete Faith of the Centurion: (Mat. 8:8) “But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.” (Mat. 8:10) “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”

  21. Complete Faith of the Centurion: • He was submissive to Christ pleading with Jesus (Mat. 8:5); he glorified Christ by acknowledging his sovereignty • He was selfless, for he asked not on his own behalf, but on the behalf of his suffering servant (Mat. 8:6) • He was humble, expressing to Jesus how he felt unworthy (Mat. 8:8) • He had great belief in Jesus, believing a single word spoken by Him intended to heal his servant would suffice • He was willing to see the truth that even His own countrymen (uncluding His disciples) failed to see (Mat. 8:25 “we are perishing” & “who can this be that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”)
