  17. North Arrow frame • North arrows are contained within frames in the layout. When you create a north arrow frame you select a style of north arrow to place on the layout. You can also choose an angle (in degrees) that the north arrow should be rotated.

  18. Text and other graphics • Use the drawing tool to add graphics such as neatlines, boxes, and other shapes • Add text for titles and other descriptive information

  19. Working with map elements • Select • Move • Resize • Group • Ungroup • Align

  20. Layout template • Save any layout as a layout template • Use the layout design as the basis for other layouts • Use EMPTY frames (views, tables, etc.) for the different map components • When the layout template is used, any view/table/etc. can be assigned to the empty frame

  21. Creating a layout template • Choose a layout - Layout\use template -choose the desired template

  22. Save layouts as template • Layout\store as template • type a name for your template • select an icon, OK • Your new template will be added in the template manager
