Determine whether the number 823 136 947 452 is divisible by 4 and 8. • Solution: • The last 2 digits are 52 • 52/4=13 • The last 3 digits are 452 • 452/8 • 56.5 • The number 823 136 947 452 is divisible by 4 but not 8
Example #1 • Determine whether the number 839 283 017 402 846 256 is divisible by 4 or 8 • Solution: • The last 2 digits are 56 • 56/4= 14 • The last 3 digits are 256/8= 32 • Therefore, 4 and 8 are factors
