2. About us • The Association was established in 1994 • Today it has over 200 members • The Association is member of the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Societies of Partners and Guardians of Disabled People • It is inscribed in the National Record of non-Profit Privet Sector Organizations • It is inscribed in the Record of Organizations Certified for providing Social Services • It is inscribed in the Record of MKOs providing voluntary services • The Association of Parents having Children with Disabilities is founding member of the Center for Social Support (legal person of private law), which provides training and educational services to people with disabilities over the age of 20. In the Center, specialists are working on the following activities: painting and hand-made products, cooking, gardening, music, sports. People with disabilities are supported by psychologists and social workers. The Association participates in Center’s three member board (the other members are the Prefecture of Kilkis and the Union of Local Authorities- Kilkis).

Our general aims • Foundation ofHostel for short term residencefor people with disabilities • Foundation of Hostel for semi-independent living for people with disabilities • Foundation of Protected Production Laboratories Our principles • To improve every day living of people with disabilities • To provide moral and material support to people with disabilities • To encourage their social and professional integration

5. Our action • We work on the construction of the Hostel for Semi-Independent Living • We play active role in the administration of the Center for Social Support • We publish every three months the magazine named “vimatizo” specialized on disability • We take part every year in the camp program for people with disabilities implemented by the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Societies of Partners and Guardians of Disabled Peopleand financed by the European Development Fund and the Hellenic Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity • We train and co-ordinate the volunteers working for the Association • We inscribe in our records parents having children with disabilities • We implement European and National Projects • We organize entertainment, cultural and sport activities for people with disabilities, as well as informative seminars on disability.
