  6. In Spanish the indirect object is the person who receives the direct object, or the person who benefits from or is affected by the action of the verb. It is often used with verbs like dar (to give) or decir (to tell or to say). However, it is also used with other verbs as well. The indirect object usually follows the direct object, and it always comes after the preposition “a”.

  7. le les A prepositional “a” is placed in front of the indirect object. Susie cuts Mrs. Gómez’s hair. Susie ___ corta el pelo a la señora Gómez. I tell my parents that I want to go to the movies.   8. IOP’s follow the same rules of placement as DOP’s and reflexive pronouns. 1) They go before the conjugated verb or attached to the infinitive. Susana me va a dar el lápiz. Susana va a darme el lápiz. 2) Commands: Dame la tarea. Give me the homework. No me digas que hay tarea. Don’t tell me that there’s homework.
