In Daycare centers, teachers sit with children and help them make their clocks and teach them how to read the time easily. 3 Amazingly Easy Clock making Ideas for Kids : Paper Plate Clock : Although this is a very easy and simple idea, you can get an amazing result from this. What you will need : White paper plate Sketch pen Blue construction paper Scissors Tack pin Crayons How to Make : First, write down 1 to 12 on the face of the paper plate. Encourage your little ones to write the numbers on the marks using sketch pens. Then, they can use crayons to color the face of the plate. Now, draw one small arrow and one big arrow on the blue construction paper and help them to cut the arrows properly. Use the tack pin to stick the clock hands in the center of the plate. Your paper plate clock is ready. Car Clock : Preschool Rolling Hills Estates, CA teachers ask children to bring their small toy cars to make this car clock. What you will need : 12 small toy cars Cardboard sheet Sketch pens Old clock Glue gun How to Make : First, take an old clock and remove the battery compartment and the clock's hands. Take a big cardboard sheet and draw a circle of about 12 to15-inch diameters. Now help your little ones to cut out the circle properly and place the toy cars in the position of the numbers of a clock. Use the glue gun to stick the cars on the outer edge of the cardboard sheet. Now, attach a battery movement and clock hands at the center of the sheet. Encourage children to decorate the clock face with sketch pens. Penguin Clock : In their Child Care centers kids love making this penguin clock. You can also make this at home as you do not require many things to make this one. What you will need : Construction paper – black, white, orange, blue Sketch pens Clock mechanism Glue How to Make : Let your kids draw a penguin on the black construction paper and help them to cut the penguin properly. Cut the white paper in the shape of the penguin’s eyes and hands. Use the orange paper to make the beak and the blue one to give it a bow tie. Now cut a 6-inch diameter circle from the white paper and stick it on the penguin’s belly.
Write 1 to 12 on the white circle and attach the clock mechanism at the center of the circle. You can make at least one clock from these and help your kids understand the concept of time through a hands-on activity.
