  3. 1.8.SAP GUI: 1.8.1.Main screen, launching transactions • 1.8.1.Main screen: top left you can see the Command line for running transactions by code • Transactions can also be launched from SAP Menu (SAP menü) in a module-based hierarchy, or you can pull them into the Favorites Folder (Kedvencek mappa).   4. 1.8.SAP GUI: 1.8.2.Navigation, searching transactions Click • 1.8.2.Navigate&Search: there are other navigation buttons for handling longer screens/documents: • :Save, :Print • , , , :Prev./Next/First/Last page • , :Search text/Next occourence • :Open new modus (in case of you want to check earlier transactions without abort!) • :View, :Modify, :Create • Text clipboard: Ctrl-C:copy,Ctrl-V:past Ctrl-Y:copy text falling in rectangular marquee • If we opoened a bounch of moduses and it is hard tofollow in which server>mandant>transaction> dialog screen>subscreen/panel/tab we are: • Status Row (Státuszsor) shows some data • Clicking button ( ) there you can get more • In Extras|Settings|Technical names (Kiegé-szítések|Beállítások|Műszaki nevek) menu: show transaction codes in SAP Menu • In System|Status (Rendszer|Státusz) menu you can get more detailed status report • If you do not know where is a transaction in SAP menu you can search in the following ways: • From running SAP GUI: • SE93:Transaction maintenance, or • SAP Menu selected, Search button Click Click Click Click Click Click Click

  7. 1.8.SAP GUI: 1.8.4.Data entry in transactions, searching field values • 1.8.4.How to enter data in a transaction? Eg. We would like to search the table con-taining raw materials and see its contents: • SE16:launch this to see table contents • It asks for table name, but it’s unknown • Click on Lokup/Control table(kinéze-gető/ellenőrző tábla) button ( ), or press F4: it will pop up list of possible values, or if there are many of them, it shows a searching dialog • Give here the known part of the name with * wildcards, eg.: MA* (as we are looking for some „Materials” table) • ( ):you can give here additional search values and match relations: <=,>=, <> • ( ):start searching, see match list • This can be sorted ( , ), text-search-ed ( , ), and if you found something (eg. MARA:raw materials), you can see it with ( ) and select with ( ) • As there are many records in the table, it shows a search dialog for its primary key(eg.MATNR:MaterialID) where you can select values again with ( ), you can give multiple filter values with ( ), and additional filter relations with ( ) • Output list width: max. number of columns in output table • Max.number of matches: at large tab-les, search results can be also large, resulting long download time, therefore we limit results to a sample of first 300 • ( ): display output table Click Click Click Click Clickt Click Click Click Click

  8. 1.8.SAP GUI: 1.8.5.Output tables of transactions Click • 1.8.5.Handling output tables of transactions • By default, output tables are shown in SE16-style Data Browser (Adatmeg-jelenítő), which is an old and obsolete character-based table • You can step on records with ( , ) sort them with ( , ),select/deselect them with( , ), see which database table fields they are from with ( ), and see detailed record content with ( ) • Control table button shows other tables referenced by Foreign keys (Idegen kulcs) of the current table • At SE16 main screen, select Tablena-me field and press ( ) User parame-ters button, • Then in Data Browser tab| Output list panel, check in ALV-Grid (ALV-rács), re-run the transaction and you will see a more modern, Excel-like of graphic type data browser with extra functions: • You can define complex filter ( ) • You can aggregate table fields ( ) • You can format graphic printing ( ) • Export table in XML file ( ) • Export table into Excel/Word ( ) • Send table by E-mail ( ) • Change table field layout ( ). This can be saved with ( ), and the tab-le will open using it.   9. 1.8.SAP GUI: 1.8.6.Printing, 1.8.7.Customization, 1.8.8.Helps • 1.8.6.Printing output tables: • At the data browser press • Print( ) button for Print screen list panel: • Printer:Local/Network/PDF file • Copies:n • Pages: From - To • Properties button: properties of the printable document in Spool (Nyomtatási lista): this is an area in server memory where documents are waiting to be printed and can be viewed/edited/deleted by System menu|Own spool request: • Name, Title, Authorization, • Immediate printing, Delete after printing • 1.8.7.SAP R/3 Customization (Testreszabás): • System settings( )button|Options menu: • Local Data tab: remember the last values entered in a given field or not • Expert tab| Check Show technical names(Mutassa műszaki neveket): in lookup /control tables it will show BOTH text description and primary key code of items: the latter is unique and independent from the actual language of GUI! • SPRO: this is the transaction handles all SAP customization settings in a complex hierarchy similar to SAP menu: in nearly the same structure (SAP IMG) you can find settings of the given country, company,etc. You should have SAP_ALL rights to modify • 1.8.8.SAP GUI Helps: • 1.8.8.1.Local helps: • F1 hotkey anywhere: general transaction-level help • F4 or ( ) button on data field: list of possible values in the field • Here RightClick|Tecnical info menu or Technical info( ) button will show the data source tables of the selectable values of field • General web-help: http://help.sap.com/ (business processes, transactions, dialogs) • 1.8.8.2.Remote helps: • DEF:Note: downloadable service packages: http://service.sap.com/notes accessible only with buying extra Service Market Place (SMP) authorization.
