It is useful to treat osteoarthritis, muscular pains, myalgia, joint pain& stiffness, spondylolisthesis.   4. Njavara kizhi is performed in Ekanga or Sarvanga with the bolus of boiled shashtika shali with balamoola kahsaya & ksheera. Shashtika is snigdha, guru, sthira, sheeta and tridoshaghna, though a sweda karma, it has brimhana guna. Duration : 45 minutes to 1 hour, preferable time is in between 7-11 am and 4-6 pm The procedure can be stopped if the medicine in the boluses or the milk mixture is exhausted. Procedure : 2 warm Kizhi are gently applied in a synchronized manner by the two therapist on two side of Droni It is followed by a gentle massage with the other hand. We ensure that the heat of the boluses is bearable to the patient by touching them over the dorsum by hand. The temperature of the boluses is maintained throughout the procedure by contnious relay of the four boluses after reheating by dipping in milk kashayam mixture. The process is continued till the patient attains samyak swinna lakshana or until the content of the boluses exhausted. This procedure is done in the seven positions as in kayasekam or as advised by the physician. http://parijatak.com/panchakarma-treatment-kerala-center/
