  3. NEW EXECUTIVE ORDER - NATIONAL EXPORT INITIATIVE • Improve Trade/Remove Barriers • Pursue a Government-wide Approach to Export Advocacy Abroad • Establish Export Promotion Cabinet

  4. National Security Council 21st CENTURY BORDER INTERAGENCY POLICY COMMITTEE • Infrastructure Planning • Secure Flow • Corridor Security • Intergovernmental Coordination

  5. HIGHWAY TRUST FUND & REAUTHORIZATION • SAFETEA-LU extended through December 31, 2010 • Extension maintains current funding levels • Current Administration Developing Policy Principles

  6. GREENING TRANSPORTATION AT THE BORDER WORKSHOP • May 12th and 13th in Phoenix, AZ • Hosted by Arizona DOT • TBWG and JWC are Co-Sponsors • EPA, GSA, CBP, Commerce, DOT, GNEB, CEC, States, Local Gov.

  7. BORDER WAIT TIME STUDY • Official Partnership between CBP /CBSA /TC /FHWA • Auto. Time Measurement • Share Information/real time

  8. ARRA, TIGER, & TIGER-2 • ARRA- 100% Obligated by States • TIGER – Awarded – Border -Black Water Bridge , Mich. • TIGER II - $600 M – Different Authorization - Goals

  9. New Livability/Sustainability Focus • New Partnership between HUD, EPA, and USDOT • FHWA to partner with other agencies to enhance HUD and EPA programs • Joint Planning of Federal Investment to support Livability and Sustainability

  10. COORDINATED BORDER INFASTRUCTURE PROGAM • Authorized through December 31, 2010 • Funds Program with approximately $230M
