What is Speech? • Speech is people talking.
Do animals talk? Ducks quack. Dogs bark.
What do people do? • Boys and girls talk. • That is called speech. • Speech is when people are talking. • Animals hear sounds. • But they don’t know what good speech is.
Using Good Speech We could say that words which are said incorrectly are crooked or broken.
Speech & Other People • Speech is people talking to each other. Good speech is when you talk and everyone understands what you are saying. Good speech is when you use the sounds in words correctly. Sometimes people say words wrong, or incorrectly.
Using Good Speech • It can be hard for other people to talk to you if you do not use good speech.
Speech • In speech class we will learn to use good speech. We will learn to say sounds correctly.
