Physics Cases Summary Matt AmthorBucknell University ReA12 Recoil Separator Workshop – July 12, 2014
Timeline of physics cases • August 2013 Low Energy Community Meeting, MSU • Recoil separator satellite workshop • Recoil separator working group meeting • Goal: to select a preferred separator system • Conclusions: • Physics cases must come first: details, not just concepts • Many experiments need a larger mass resolving power than a gas-filled option can provide (keep gas-filled-mode concept) • Solicitation and collection of physics cases from the community after August and again in Spring 2014 • 17 physics cases collected • “Evaluated” by working group conveners to determine unidentified experimental parameters (→spreadsheet).
