Pieces with good ideas: • Are appropriate for the audience and purpose of the piece • Have been well thought out (brainstormed) to discover the best possible information to use in the writing (This is where pre-writing comes in) • Have a narrow topic that stays focused and clear • Make sure that the reader understands the topic clearly. • Give details that are significant and important details, do not give details that are unnecessary to the topic.
Idea- • The ideas are the main message, the content of the main piece, the main theme, together with all the supporting details that enrich and develop that theme. The ideas are strong when the message is clear, not garbled. • The writer chooses details that are normally anticipate or predict.
Lists are a great way to come up with new and appealing ideas about the topic.
