International Office of the faculty of Humanities • Our target groups: • Incoming and outgoing exchange students • International students for Degree Programmes at the faculty • Incoming and outgoing teachers and staff • Incoming and outgoing researchers • Our main activities: • Providing information at all points in time • Full coordination of application procedures for exchange students • Coordination of visa and accommodation for incoming students, teachers, staff and researchers • Be of assistance to outgoing teachers, staff and researchers

Possibilities for PhD Mobility • UU has agreements (“Memorandum of Understanding”) with over 80 partners worldwide to facilitate student and teacher mobility • UU has funding for international collaboration with 35 Utrecht University Partners (UUP’s) Possibilities are: - doing research and/or - following PhD Training Courses
UU Funding for International Strategic Collaboration For incoming and outgoing researchers: • Travel Grants: Placement has to contribute to the (further) development of new collaboration links within a UU focus area (www.uu.nl/focusareas) • Intensive Workshops For incoming researchers only: • Short Stay Fellowships • Short Stay Visiting professorships
Mobility through Faculty MoU’s • University of Rutgers USA (co-funded bilateral teacher exchange) • UC Santa Barbara (co-funded bilateral teacher exchange) • UC Los Angeles (co-funded bilateral student & teacher exchange)
Marie Curie Actions • Intra-European Fellowships for career development (IEF) • Move from one EU Member State to another • Advanced training and personal career development • Financial support for 12 – 24 months
Marie Curie Actions • International Outgoing Fellowships for career development (IOF) • European researchers conducting high-level research in other parts of the world • Includes an outgoing phase and a mandatory reintegration phase • All areas of scientific research
Marie Curie Actions IEF and IOF • What does the funding cover? • A salary for the researcher • Contribution to research-related costs • The fellowships may include: • Training-through-research • Hands-on training • Interdisciplinary knowledge transfer • Building collaborations • Scientific and financial management of your research
