Types of Crime and Trends

1. Types of Crime and Trends Prompt: Is there a increase or decrease in crime rates over the past 50 years? Objective: Students will identify and define a particular crime. Students will identify recent increase of decrease in that particular crime. Students will identify the trends in crime both violent and property crimes. Students will create a power point presentation and present their findings to the class.

2. Instructions • With a group of 2 or 3 research identify a particular crime and the definition of that crime. • Create a slide which identifies a particular crime • Property crime? Violent crime? • Definition of that crime • Picture of that crime to assist definition • Research the current trends in number of times that crime has been committed (10,20,50 years, last year 2015) • Create a slide explaining this information • Add a graph if possible which displays your information • Crime in our neighborhood (s.f. valley, Sylmar etc)
