The design of this Chile-Roundtrip is sustainably oriented by composing it with service providers who give preference to the protection of the environment and the local population. This is reflected by the way tours and transfers are designed and by which accommodations have been selected - usually those who are accredited and certified for their efforts in sustainable tourism by the ANDES NATIVA quality seal. CHILE NATURAL – is a round trip, tailored for Nature- and Culture enthusiast, who want to enjoy their vacation in a conscious way, travelling in a respectful and responsible ambience. DAY 4 PUCON – HUILO HUILO (Breakfast) The journey continues deeper into the Andes Cordillera to „Huilo Huilo“, a private reserve in which 100.000 hectares of endemic forest and a magnificent biodiversity are protected and cared for. Here was developed successfully a sustainable tourism project, which is now the major source of income for the population of a region where the precious virgin forest was cut down before. The numerous hiking paths do pass by hidden lagoons, crystal clear rivers and woods, which are now a paradise for countless native types of birds. Even the Huemul, a type of Andean deer, which is at the border of extinction, finds a refugee within these woods. 2 Nights Hotel Baobab **** DAY 5 HUILO HUILO (Breakfast) The Huilo Huilo Park does have numerous natural springs, rivers and creeks, which take their course through the densely wooded Andean Mountains. The name of the park has its origin in the waterfall which is close to the Hotel. DAY 6 HUILO HUILO – PETROHUE – PUERTO VARAS (Breakfast) We stay in Chile, continuing into southern direction and after three hours we do arrive in the „city of roses“ Puerto Varas. Here we can observe 3 types of Flamingos which are alimented by the brine of salt. In the afternoon we will be able to enjoy a special pleasure in the Céjar Lagoon: because of the high concentration of minerals we are able to swim within the water without any movements. 2 overnights in Hotel Casa Atacama *** DAY 12 SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA (Breakfast) Excursion according to your choice - For example: Geysers El Tatio & Moon Valley In the early morning begins the trip to the El Tatio Geysers. Dawn is the best time to visit the steam fountains, when the hot water damp condenses in the icy morning air. Out of dozens of fumaroles it is bubbling, brewing and spitting and without any break there are shooting hot water bams into the air. We will take our time to observe this natural spectacle. Afterwards we continue to a typical small Andean Village on an altitude of 3.400 m. In Ancient times Machuca served as a resting place for Lama-Caravans along the Inca-road. Today there do live very few people in this village. It is a colorful village in the middle of the Altiplanic Highlands with breathtaking views on the Andes and the Atacama Saltlake.
Back in the Hotel we are able to relax a bit at our room and in the evening we can depart again to visit the Moon Valley during a Half day Excursion. It is part of the Natural Reserve Los Flamencos and about 18 km west of San Pedro, which is administrated by the Atacameño Community. This surreal site is one of the most spectacular in the Atacama Desert and is called this way because of its unique geological formation which reminds strongly of the moon landscape. Here we will explore this marvelous scenery and visit the strange shapes, nature has formed out of salt and clay. DAY 13 SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA – CALAMA - SANTIAGO (Breakfast) In the morning will be the transfer to Calama Airport for our flight to Santiago.
