  3. Turning on the Audio System • Turn all amplifiers on by moving the power switches to the “ON” positions. (amplifiers are located in the equipment rack in the back room) • Verify that the zones to be played are on. (see Page 4 for details) • Do not use circuit breakers to turn system on/off. This can damage the system.

  4. Using the Audio System • Choose the keypad of the area to be controlled. • Choose the audio source by pressing one of the source buttons on the keypad. (see source description on next page) • Adjust the volume for that area with the up and down buttons to the left of the green numbers. • The area may be turned on/off pressing the “ON/OFF” button. When the light is on, the area is operational. When the light is off, the area is off.

Source Descriptions • “DJ” – Selects the DJ mixer. • “AUX” – Selects the aux input cable located at the DJ booth. • “BAR” – Selects the aux input plate behind the bar. • “DVD” – Selects the audio output of the DVD player located at the DJ booth. • “PC” – Selects the wall-plate PC input located in the niche of the wall at the right side of the front of area “D”. • “ON/OFF” – mutes this area when light is off.

  6. Monitoring Audio Zones To monitor a source being played in a given area turn the rotary switch on the Toa MP-1216 to the area to be monitored. Adjust the monitor volume with the volume knob below the rotary switch. The areas are assigned as follows: 1/2 – Lounge A R/L 3/4 – Lounge B R/L 5/6 – Lounge C R/L 7/8 – Lounge D R/L 9/10 – Bar R/L 11/12 – Front Area R/L 13 – Restroom iPod A 14 – Restroom iPod B 15 – Restroom iPod C

Adjusting the Volume of the Front Door Speakers Note: The front door area is a sub-zone of the main bar area, controlled by the “BAR AND ENT” keypad. • First select the desired source and set the volume level for the main bar area. • Then adjust the volume of the two front door speakers using the knob labeled “ENTRANCE” until the desired level is reached.

  8. DJ Booth Operation • To operate the DJ booth, first select “DJ” as the source for the areas needed, using the keypads located at the rack. Adjust volume to approximately 75. • Make sure the master fader on the Pioneer DJM600 is all the way down to avoid damaging speakers. • At the DJ booth, make sure the Pioneer DJM600 DJ mixer power is turned on. • Turn up the fader of the DJ source to be played and verify that there is a signal present on the channel fader. • Place the crossfader in the center of it’s travel and, slowly, turn the master fader up until the desired volume is reached. • Adjust the level of the DJ monitor by rotating the “booth monitor” knob until the desired volume is reached. • Be sure to keep all meters out of the red, at all times, to avoid damage.

  9. DJ Booth Source Assignment • Left CDJ – CH-1 CD1 • Left Turntable – CH-2 Phono1 • Right Turntable – CH-3 Phono2 • Right CDJ – CH-4 Line • The Aux Input located below the turntables is not connected to the DJ mixer, and is controlled at the equipment rack. See Page 5 for details.

Restroom iPod Operation • At the rack location in the office, start all three iPods, using the playlists of your choice or the full-shuffle function. • Make sure the playback mode is set to repeat the playlists. The iPods will need to be stopped manually. • Adjust the volume from the iPod using the monitor panel. (see page 6) • In the restroom stalls, select the iPod to be played by pressing the buttons labeled “A”, “B”, and “C”. This will play the content that is currently being played on the iPod selected over the restroom stall speakers.

  11. Using the Video System To operate the video system, first turn on the projectors as follows: Press the “WATCH” button on the remote followed by the “PROJECTOR” button. (continued on the next page)

  12. Projector Operation • Using the following method turn on and set up all the projectors you wish to view. • While pointing the remote at the projector to be viewed, press the “POWER” button. (note that the red and green “ON” and “OFF” buttons do not operate the video system) The projector should begin booting up, which takes about 30 seconds. You will see a countdown display and hear the cooling fan turn on. • After the projector has booted, press the “INPUT” button to display the input menu. Using the arrow pad on the remote select “Digital PC” as the source. • Note that only the projector in “Lounge D” will display the DVD player or PC input. The other projectors are designed to only display the Mac Mini computers located at the projectors.

  13. Using the DVD P layerFor “Lounge D” (Closest to Office) Only • To use the DVD player first make sure the DVD player is turned on, then insert a DVD into the player located on the lower shelf inside the DJ booth. • Turn the projector ON as described on page 12. • From the “PROJECTOR” menu of the remote, press the “INPUT” button to display the input menu. Using the arrow keys select the “VIDEO” input. • In the office select “DVD” as the audio source for “Lounge D” (or any zone(s) where the DVD audio is to be played). • Adjust the volume using the same keypad(s).

  14. DVD Player Operation • Press “WATCH”, then “DVD” on the remote. • Once the DVD player is selected and shown on the screen area, the DVD player can be controlled using the arrow buttons, play, start, stop, pause, back, ahead, menu, and number buttons just as on any standard DVD player. The remote does not need to be operated directly in front of the DVD player. It should function from almost anywhere in the Lounge. • Some special feature controls for the Marantz DVD-4001 DVD player have been included at the top of the remote, in the blue screen, for any setup options that may be needed such as subtitles, angle, zoom, audio selection, etc. • Please refer to the Marantz Owner’s Manual for further operating instructions.

  15. Using the PC Input For “Lounge D” (Closest to Office) Only • To use the “PC Input” located in the front of “Lounge D” first connect a laptop using the VGA video, and analog audio connections on the “PC Input” plate in “Lounge D”. (a long cable to do this has been provided) • Press the “WATCH” button, then the “PROJECTOR” button on the remote. • Press the “INPUT” button to display the input menu. Using the arrow keys select the “ANALOG PC-1” input. (If no video is shown, verify that the laptop is setup to display video on an external display) • In the back room select “PC” as the audio source for “Lounge D” (or any zone(s) where the PC audio is to be played). • Adjust the volume using the same keypad(s).

  16. Shutdown of Audio System • Mute all zones by pressing the “ON/OFF” button on each of the five keypads at the rack. When the green indicator lamp goes out, the area is off. • Turn the power off on all the amplifiers by switching the power switches to the “OFF” positions. • The audio system is now off.

  17. Shutdown of Video System • Press “WATCH” then “PROJECTOR” on the remote. • Walk to every projector and press the “POWER” button while pointing the remote at the front of the unit. • You may be asked to confirm the shutdown of the projector. Confirm this. • The fans may run for up to two minutes after shutdown to cool the bulb, this is normal. • Wait five minutes to allow for full shutdown. • Verify that all projectors are off and fans have stopped running. • Do not shut down projectors by using the circuit breaker panel. This can damage the projectors.

  18. System Reset Instructions • Turn all amplifiers (9 “QSC RMX” units and 5 “James Model 6” units) OFF. • Turn OFF the Furman Elite 15i power conditioner located near the top of the left rack by moving the power switch to the OFF position. All equipment should now be OFF. • Wait 30 seconds. • Turn the “Furman Elite 15i ” back ON . • Wait a full 60 seconds for system to re-initialize. System is operational when volume level display returns to all keypads. • Restore amplifier power and proceed to select sources.
