Oak View School Local Offer Support for pupils with severe and complex needs. A Graduated Response Provision for ASD pupils Complex and medical needs Oak View ensures that we meet the requirements of the NAS. We provide specialist training for all staff and use Teacch strategies, visual learning support, we employ a Sensory integration specialist, each class has resources to enable appropriate sensory diets to be delivered. Multi Disciplinary teams include Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language support, School Nurse, and Educational Psychology service, MSI specialist Teacher support, VI support. Oak View has a hydrotherapy pool. All pupils at Oak View will have an Education Health Care Plan (EHC). All pupils will have a personalized curriculum to support their learning. This will be delivered appropriately for their learning style. They will access the National Curriculum, age appropriately, and a Key Skills curriculum, clear transition plans across all age phases as well as appropriate access o the community. All staff receive induction training for Autism, augmentative and alternative communication, behaviour management, child protection, Complex needs support, Eklan training. All pupils are assessed by the SLT to identify their next stage of communication development to inform the class team. At Oak View we support pupils and their families through a multi disciplinary approach. We value the views of our parents and are a listening school. We also provide additional specialist support including, horse riding, community access to develop life skills, Sherbourne, Music therapy, MOVE, 5 P behaviour program, Family Liaison Officer, residential journeys, School nurse and pediatrician appointments at school.
