Milk Float Batteries • Project Summary • Supply and maintenance of batteries for Dairy Crest’s Milk Float fleet • 1600 Milk floats at 110 distribution centers • Approx annual spend of £713k • Objectives: Reduce the number of suppliers and reduce current costs • Critical Success Factors • Recent change in spec standards from British to European standards increased competition. • Process & Suppliers • eRFP completed with 4 suppliers responses • All 4 Suppliers invited to eAuction • Supplier training completed • 1 Lot bid at auction encompassing the 15 line items • All pricing detail was collected within the eAuction negotiation • Results • 8% savings were achieved by awarding to the supplier ranked 1st • Due diligence completed post eAuction to confirm supplier capabilities
