Hanukkah Vbffggfhghngh,mgm,gm,dh,./dg,./ggggdfghghghhggdfdfdddggh • Hanukkah is a day the Jewish people worshipped the restoration of the Jewish temple. • Basically the Greeks took over and made the Jews celebrate a Greek holiday. They rebelled and took back the kingdom. They gave each other presents. One of the most common presents is a Menorah. An 8 sticked candle. The oil lasted eight days. Now that’s what the 8 days of Hanukkah.
Origin of Yom Kippur • The day of cleaning or atoment . • On this day they must repent for their sins. • Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah are known as the days of awe • They begins with a 25 hour fast • Most people wear comfy shoes • In the morning they break the fast(breakfast) • People who are ill are not required to fast • Begins at the sunset on the evening of the 10th Tishrei.
The Roots & How the Sabbath Began The Sabbath started God was creating the Earth for a week, but on Sunday (The Sabbath), he rested. This started a weekly ritual that Jews should rest and not do these things:-Do not do our own work.-Do not cook or gather food.-Do not gather sticks or make a fire.-Do not carry any burden.-Do not buy or sell.-Do not do our own ways or seek our own pleasure.-Do not speak our own words.
