With his judicial temperament, compassion, and in-depth knowledge of the legal system, he endeavors to deliver impartial and fair judgments while making a significant contribution to the improvement of the judicial system.   3. His successful career profile and skill set is the result of his stellar academic background. Judge Patrick Burns Auburn received his Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Washington in 1975. Later, he went to Law School at the University of Puget and later on studied General Jurisdiction at National Judicial College. After completing his education, he started his own practice in Auburn. He worked as an independent lawyer for almost two decades with a specialization in Family Law, Civil Litigation and Criminal Defense. Thereafter, he was selected as a Presiding Judge at Auburn Municipal Court, and worked with complete dedication and commitment to public service. He also joined the Judicial College as a faculty member and helped the students in their learning process with his knowledge and wisdom.

  4. Besides working as a successful law practitioner, Patrick Burns Judge is an assiduous member of various committees and associated with a number of organizations. He has been a diligent member of DMCJA Court Rules Committee, DMCJA Spring Conference Faculty, Washington State Center for Court Research Board. He is also a member of South King County Bar Association Board, DMCJA Legislative Committee, DMCJA Salary and Benefits Committee, and Washington State Therapeutic Courts Committee.

Currently, he is working as a Pro-Tem Judicial Officer at Kent and Kirkland Municipal Courts, and is acknowledged for his meticulousness and ability to render judgments which are cogent and clear.
