Syncing OneNote Notebooks to SkyDrive STEP 1: In OneNote open one of your notebooks. Go to FILE – SHARE - WEB. STEP 2: If you have a Windows Live account, SIGN IN; if not, SIGN UP.
Create Windows Live Account STEP 3: CREATE ACCOUNT If you do not already have a Windows Live account, CREATE one. We suggest you use your STM email address when creating the account so that it will be easy to remember.
Skydrive Account By default, your Skydriveaccount will contain Documents, Pictures & Public folders. It also gives you 7 gigs of free cloud space.
Creating OneNote Folder in Skydrive STEP 4: Your Skydrive window will contain a Documents folder. Let’s create a folder just for your OneNote notebooks: Select: Create - Folder Name the folder: ONENOTE
Syncing the Notebooks to Skydrive STEP 5:Select SHARE ON WEB. STEP 6:Select SKYDRIVE as the web location – for the first notebook, you will have to log into Skydrive.
Logging Into Skydrive When logging into SkyDrive, select: KEEP ME SIGNED IN By staying logged in you will help prevent your OneNote notebooks from becoming “un-synced.”
Syncing the Notebooks to Skydrive STEP 7: Select ONENOTE NOTEBOOKS. STEP 8: SHARE NOTEBOOKS.
How Do I Know It Is Working? A notebook is in the process of syncing if you see a GREEN circle rotating next to the notebook name in OneNote. The icon has a CHECK next it when the syncing is completed. If you did not have the program remember your login information, your sync will be broken with you get disconnected to WiFi. The sync circle will turn RED. Click the red circle to sync. You will have to log into Skydrive again.
Re-Syncing Notebooks Select FILE – VIEW SYNC STATUS Either SYNC ALL or sync notebooks individually.
Retrieving Notebook from Skydrive Once your notebooks have been sent to Skydrive, you can access them anywhere there is an internet connection. If you ever need to bring your tablet to Help Desk for service, you can RETRIEVE your notebooks to your LOANER computer very easily.
2 WAYS TO RETRIEVE NOTEBOOKS FROM SKYDRIVE Method #1: In OneNote, select FILE – OPEN – OPEN FROM THE WEB. Method #2: Right-click Notebook in SkyDrive. Choose OPEN IN ONENOTE.
