PD Lee Yoon-jung • * What is the meaning behind the title, “Triple”? • I named it after Triple Axel in figure skating. It is one of the most difficult jumps, so the title represents going beyond a goal. It expresses a dream to be achieved. • * Your previous drama, <Coffee Prince> was wildly popular. Any pressures from that? • I initially thought there was none, but I guess I am ambitious. It is not easy to only expect a little. I am indeed nervous about the success of <Triple> Lee Jung-Jae (Shin Hwal) I am acting for the role of Shin Hwal, who works in the advertisement planning division. Although he is a fussy character, I hope to act it out smoothly.* Do you have any similarities to your character? I find it difficult to forgive a woman who has betrayed me once. I think we are similar in that aspect.
Min Hyo-rin (Lee Ha-ru) • This is my first acting experience, so I am feeling quite nervous. • Ha-ru is a 16-year-old figure skater, who suppresses her sorrow and lives with a bright and positive attitude. She runs into a lot of troubles, living with three older guys. • * What motivated you to star in <Triple>? • I am a big fan of director Lee Yoon-jung and figure skater Kim Yuna. Ha-ru and I are from the same hometown as well. Director Lee chose me for the role, so I was given this opportunity to work with everyone. • * You act as a skater. How much do you practice? • I already practiced for about a year. As soon as I was cast in the role, I practiced three times everyday except for Sundays. I also train to run 8km in 30 minutes. I was not very fit, so the training was very strenuous. But I had nothing but <Triple> in mind, and Director Lee was always encouraging, so I worked really hard.
Lee Sun-Gyun (Cho Hae-yoon) My character is naïve and emotional, but when I act him out, he feels rather meddlesome and whiny, a bit like a nosy next-door lady. * This is your third time working with director Lee Yoon-jung. What is it like? Actually, I’ve had more drinks with director Lee than with other actors. But that is probably the reason why she neglects me more than the others. (laugh) I am acting very comfortably. Yoon Gye-sang (Jang Hyun-tae) I am starring for the youngest-looking character amongst the three. He cares about nothing else, once faced with love.
