It is only a snapshot of what the BLM have been able to derive spatially from available public land survey and mining claim data that hasbeenentered in LR2000. • There *can* be federal mineral claims on private, state, and other federal agency surface land. Sometimes the federal government will dispose of the surface rights but retain the sub-surface rights. BML do not have a spatial layer showing sub-surface rights. • The graphical display of land and mineral parcels and mining claims are NOT a substitute for the official BLM or county land and mineral records. Not all land and mineral records are displayed in this system. There could be land and mineral records and mining claims that occur on the lands but are not displayed on the map you are viewing.
