Applications • We start the module by looking at a typical web application: • To see how it is constructed • To see what data it contains and how the data is related • We have chosen Flickr as the base application. Work on understanding and describing Flickr will form the first part of the first coursework.

  6. Exploring an Application • What are we studying existing applications? • What kind of questions should we be asking? • What sources of information are there? • How do we record our understanding?

  7. Pyramiding • 5 minutes – think about these questions on your own • 10 minutes – in pairs, look for differences and explore these • 10 minutes - groups

  8. Tutorial • Hand out Draft assignment specification. • Discuss the results of the pyramiding session – how to investigate Flickr • Start to look at Flickr.
