Conclusion The DotCom Evolution - Who will Prevail in the Market • A very important technological aspect: successful companies should have technology platforms which are based on open and scalable systems so that they can continue to be developed and integrated with other platforms and technologies over time. Closed systems can dominate the market for some time but not forever. The fact that IBM is supporting and investing heavily in an open computing environment, based on systems as diverse as Linux, Apache, Java or XML, speaks for itself. • Convergence is also key: systems should integrate wireless, internet and broadband in order to provide for whatever access the user may require. • Global vision, local touch. • Management, Management, Management !!!
