  2. Bridge to the Future • The new building has provided a milestone opportunity to develop new ways of operation: • New styles of training delivery • Engagement of younger students (“Y” Gen) in a different way • Enhancement of training by the use of new technologies

  3. Preparation • More than 60% of the full time staff within the B&C area have been actively engaged in one or more of the professional development programmes run through the TAFE Development Unit over the past two years. • As well as a separately funded project through the TAFE Development Centre.

  4. Projects • Learnscope • Plumbing • Electrical • Bricklaying • Carpentry • Heritage Restoration • LL&N • Plumbing • Electrical • Bricklaying • Carpentry

  5. Employability Skills • Electrotechnology • Teaching and Learning Initiative • Electrotechnology

  6. Programme Development • All have focused on the use of “e” learning technologies. • Taking what we already do and blending new “e” learning technologies to enhance the teaching & learning practices within the Building & Construction areas.

  7. Achievements • Digital Stories • Video Conference classes • Blended theory and pracs • A more engaging delivery • Presentations by Staff at National and State-wide conferences • (both general “e” learning technologies and area specific presentations)

  8. Recognition • Already being seen by industry as a leader in development of new approaches to training delivery • Electrotechnology section presented with National Electrical Communications Association (NECA) award for “Innovative Training within the Electrotechnology Industry” • Other training organisations working with us to incorporate many of the practices that have been developed
