November 2010, Volume 2010, Number Five We hope you and your family have a wonderful THANKSGIVING Your staff at the Floyd County Baptist Association Floyd County Baptist AssociationBi-Monthly Newsletter LOVE LOUD Floyd County September 25, 2010 Thanks to all who participated and made Love Loud such a wonderful day. We had over 200 people from our churches who participated at the event, plus others who cooked. We fed all emergency workers on duty that Saturday including: fireman, EMTs, 911 workers, policemen. The Armuchee Park was cleaned. Cleaning and landscaping at five of our schools was completed. Thoughts from the ministry center: This morning we began giving away vouchers for a turkey for Thanksgiving. Normally I write the name on the voucher, explain how to redeem it and move on. As I handed the voucher to a sweet man this morning, tears began streaming down his face. He looked at me with the most wonderful smile and said “Thank you.” As he left the room, I wondered how many people would come to tears of gratitude over a frozen turkey? Then it dawned on me. This man probably wouldn’t have had a Thanksgiving turkey had it not been for you. The money you send to our food pantry is greatly appreciated. This man will sit down and enjoy this turkey with his family. This Thanksgiving, as you carve your turkey with your family, think of those who might not have that luxury. When you pray over your Thanksgiving feast, please pray for those in Rome and Floyd County who don’t have a feast to sit down to. Pray that they will come to know Jesus and one day they will sit down at the table He has prepared for His children and take part in the greatest feast of all! Brenda Gail

Please bring those by the office by November 30th. We ask that you look for cards with a Christmas theme and a verse of scripture if possible. Those do not have to be stamped. Did you know that we changed the way we do Christmas toys last year? We take the applications and screen the families.
