Trade . Canada supplies close to 100% of U. S. electricity imports to: NE U. S. the Upper Midwest, Pacific NW, and California. . Canada has been U. S. #1 trading partner since since 1946. . NAFTA has doubled trade.
2010 Winter Olympics . Construction is a challenge. . Facilities will be built by 2008 (build early in order to save expenses). . Natives (Four Nations) involved. . Sustainability is significant for the first time (aboriginal, environment footprint, and social inclusion).
Olympics . Symbol for the Olympics is the Inuit symbol: welcome (Inuksuk). . Plans to include the youth of Vancouver. . Affordable tickets for the inner city. . Develop businesses for workers of inner city (recycling, etc). . Corporate sponsors: GM, McDonalds, GE, and Coca Cola.

Plans for the homeless: mental ill will be placed in facilities, drug/alcohol will be placed in rehab. facilities, and the unemployed will be given clean-up jobs. . Border crossing is an issue to be solved. . Canada sees the Olympics as an opportunity to bring people together (vancouver2010.com).

Security . Desire to cut military and political ties overseas, and refocus attention on issues at home, such as: homeland defense, crime, and education. . Gradually phase out alliances outside of North America; not join other countries militarily unless their security is directly threatened.
Security . Lower foreign policy profile in order to lower the risk of being attacked by terrorists. . With funds saved by reducing foreign involvement, more money will be available to build-up homeland defenses.
