  2. READ: DANIEL 12:1-3 1 "At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people. There shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. At that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book. 2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.

  3. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:1-3 1 "At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people. There shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. At that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book. AT WHAT TIME? READ: DANIEL 10:13 13 "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. (NKJ) WHO IS MICHAEL? WHAT WILL MICHAEL DO? WHO WILL MICHAEL STAND AND WATCH OVER? WHAT PEOPLE ARE THEY? THE JEWS?

  4. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:1-3 WHEN WILL THESE THINGS HAPPEN? READ: REVELATION 12:7-10 7 War broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 But they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 The great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. (NKJ) READ: JUDE 1:9 9 Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!“ (NKJ) WHO IS MICHAEL CONTENDING WITH? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS?

WHO WILL TROUBLE THEM? ANTIOCHUS? WHEN WERE THESE TROUBLESOME TIMES? READ: DANIEL 11:31 31 “Forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. (NKJ) READ: MATTHEW 24:21 21 “There will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. (NKJ)

AT WHAT TIME WILL ‘HIS’ PEOPLE BE DELIVERED? WHO ARE ‘HIS PEOPLE’? JEWS? WHO WILL BE DELIVERED? WHEN WERE THEIR NAMES WRITTEN IN THE BOOK? WHAT BOOK WERE THEY WRITTEN IN? THE BOOK OF LIFE?

  7. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:1-3 WHAT IS ‘THE BOOK OF LIFE’? READ: PHILIPPIANS 4:3 3 I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life. (NKJ) READ: REVELATION 3:5 5 "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. (NKJ) READ: REVELATION 17:8 8 "The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Lifefrom the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. (NKJ)

  8. WHAT IS ‘THE BOOK OF LIFE’? READ: REVELATION 20:12 12 I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. (NKJ) READ: REVELATION 20:15 15 Anyone not found written in the Book of Lifewas cast into the lake of fire. (NKJ) READ: REVELATION 21:27 27 There shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. (NKJ) READ: REVELATION 22:19 19 If anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (NKJ)

QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:1-3 2 Many of those who sleepin the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. ‘WHO IS ASLEEP IN THE DUST OF THE EARTH’? WHAT DOES ‘ASLEEP’ MEAN? READ: GENESIS 3:19 19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return.“ (NKJ) READ: JOB 21:26 26 They lie down alike in the dust, and worms cover them. (NKJ) READ: PSALMS 104:29 29 You hide Your face, they are troubled; you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. (NKJ)

READ: 1 THESSALONIANS 4:14 14 If we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. WHO IS ASLEEP IN JESUS? WHAT WILL THEY AWAKEN TO? WHAT IS EVERLASTING LIFE? EVERLASTING CONTEMPT? READ: MATTHEW 25:46 46 “These will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.“ (NKJ) WHEN WILL THIS COME TO PASS?

  11. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:1-3 3 Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. WHO ARE THE WISE? READ: PROVERBS 11:30 30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise. (NKJ) READ: DANIEL 11:33-35 33 “Those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. 25 “Some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time. (NKJ) READ: JAMES 5:20 20 Let him know that hewho turns a sinner from the error of his waywill save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins. (NKJ)

  12. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:1-3 3 Those who are wiseshall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousnesslike the stars forever and ever. WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THEM? READ: MATTHEW 13:43 43 "The righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear! (NKJ) READ: REVELATION 7:13-14 13 One of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?" 14 I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (NKJ)

READ: DANIEL 12:4-6 4 "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." 5 Then I, Daniel, looked; and there stood two others, one on this riverbank and the other on that riverbank. 6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?"

  14. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 4 "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." WHY TELL DANIEL TO ‘SHUT UP THE WORDS’? READ: DANIEL 8:26 26 “The vision of the evenings and mornings which was told is true; therefore seal up the vision, for it refers to many days in the future.“ (NKJ) WHY TELL DANIEL TO ‘SEAL UP THE VISION’? READ: ISAIAH 8:16 16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples. (NKJ) WHY TELL ISAIAH TO BIND UP THE TESTIMONY?

  15. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 4 "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." WHAT IS ‘THE TIME OF THE END’? READ: REVELATION 22:6 6 Then he said to me, "These words are faithful and true." And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servantsthe things which must shortly take place. (NKJ) READ: REVELATION 22:10 10 And he said to me, "Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. (NKJ) WHY ‘NOT TO SEAL UP THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK’? WHAT TIME IS AT HAND?

  16. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 WHAT DAY IS JESUS SPEAKING OF HERE? READ: MATTHEW 25:13 13 "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. (NKJ) READ: MARK 13:30-32 30 "Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 31 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. 32 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. (NKJ)

QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 WHAT IS THE ‘DAY OF THE LORD’? 2 PETER 3:8-12 8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in itwill be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 READ: ISAIAH 29:10-14 10 The LORD has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; and He has covered your heads, namely, the seers. 11 The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is literate, saying, "Read this, please." And he says, "I cannot, for it is sealed." 12 The book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying, "Read this, please." And he says, "I am not literate." 13 The LORD said: "Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men, 14 Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work among this people, a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.“ (NKJ)

  19. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 4 "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." WHAT WILL MEN BE LOOKING FOR? READ: HABAKKUK 2:2 2 The LORD answered me and said: "Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. (NKJ) READ: AMOS 8:12 12 They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east; they shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, but shall not find it. (NKJ) READ: JEREMIAH 23:21 21 "I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. (NKJ)

  20. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 5 Then I, Daniel, looked; and there stood two others, one on this riverbank and the other on that riverbank. WHAT DID DANIEL SEE? TWO ANGELS? OR TWO SAINTS? READ: DANIEL 8:13 13 I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who was speaking, "How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled under foot?“ (NKJ)

  21. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 6 One said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?“ WHO WAS THE ‘MAN CLOTHED IN LINEN’? GABRIEL? READ: DANIEL 10:5 5 I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, a certain man clothed in linen, whose waist was girded with gold of Uphaz! (NKJ) READ: DANIEL 8:13 13 I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who was speaking, "How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled under foot?“ (NKJ) WHAT WAS THE QUESTION?

  22. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 6 One said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?“ WHY DID THEY ASK THIS QUESTIONS? READ: 1 PETER 1:12 12 To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to youthrough those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven-- things which angels desire to look into. (NKJ) WHAT THINGS DID THE ANGELS INQUIRE ABOUT? WHO WERE THESE ANGELS? HOW WERE THESE THINGS REVEALED? WHEN?

  23. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 HOW WOULD THE MYSTERY BE REVEALED? READ: EPHESIANS 3:8-11 8 To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 And to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in Godwho created all things through Jesus Christ; 10 To the intent that nowthe manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11 According to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, (NKJ)

READ: DANIEL 12:7-9 7 Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished. 8 Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, "My lord, what shall be the end of these things?" 9 And he said, "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

  26. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 WHAT IS ‘A TIME, TIMES AND HALF A TIME’? 1260 DAYS - 42 MONTHS? READ: DANIEL 12:7 7 ….that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished. READ: DANIEL 7:25 25 He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his handfor a time and times and half a time. READ: REVELATION 13:5 5 He was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. (NKJ) WHO IS ‘HE’? ANTIOCHUS EPIPHANES?

  27. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 WHAT IS ‘A TIME, TIMES AND HALF A TIME’? 1260 DAYS - 42 MONTHS? READ: REVELATION 11:2 2 "But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfootfor forty-two months. (NKJ) WHO ARE THE GENTILES? ROMANS? READ: REVELATION 12:6 6 The woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her thereone thousand two hundred and sixty days. (NKJ) READ: REVELATION 12:14 14 But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. WHEN DID THIS OCCUR? TO WHOM?

  28. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:4-6 WHEN WILL THESE THINGS BE FINISHED? READ: DANIEL 12:7 7 …when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered,all these things shall be finished. READ: REVELATION 10:5-7 5 The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the landraised up his hand to heaven 6 And swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, 7 But in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets. (NKJ)

  29. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:7-9 8 Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, "My lord, what shall be the end of these things?" 9 And he said, "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. WHAT DID DANIEL NOT UNDERSTAND? WHAT IS ‘CLOSED UP AND SEALED’? HOW LONG WOULD THEY BE SEALED UP? WHAT IS ‘THE TIME OF THE END’? READ: DANIEL 12:4 4 "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.“ (DANIEL 8:26) WHY SEAL UP THE VISION?

READ: DANIEL 12:10-13 10 "Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand. 11 "And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 "Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. 13 "But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days." (NKJ)

  31. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:10-13 10 "Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand. WHO SHALL BE PURIFED, MADE WHITE AND REFINED? HOW WILL THIS BE ACCOMPLISHED? WHAT WILL THE WISE UNDERSTAND? WHY WILL THE WICKED DO WICKEDLY? READ: DANIEL 11:33-35 33 “Those of the people who understandshall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. 35 "And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time. HOW LONG WILL THIS GO ON?

  32. HOW LONG WILL THIS GO ON? 11 "And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN? READ: DANIEL 11:31 31 "And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. (NKJ) WHO DID THIS? ANTIOCHUS EPHIPHANES (145-143 BC)? WHAT IS THE 1290 DAYS?

  33. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:10-13 12 "Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. WHO IS TO BE ‘BLESSED’? HOW? READ: REVELATION 19:9 9 He said to me, "Write: 'Blessedare those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!'" And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God." READ: REVELATION 20:6 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. (NKJ)

QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:10-13 READ: 2 PETER 1:19-21 19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (NKJ)

  35. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:10-13 13 "But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will ariseto your inheritance at the end of the days." WHAT REST IS GABRIEL TALKING ABOUT? READ: JOB 3:17 17 There the wicked cease from troubling, and there the weary are at rest. (NKJ) READ: ISAIAH 57:2 2 He shall enter into peace; they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness. (NKJ) WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL? READ: HOSEA 3:5 5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days. (NKJ)

  36. QUESTIONS: DANIEL 12:10-13 WHAT WAS DANIEL SEARCHING FOR? READ: 1 PETER 1:10-12 10 Of this salvationthe prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, 11 Searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicatingwhen He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. 12 To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven-- things which angels desire to look into. (NKJ)
