How to Choose the Best Stroller for Your Baby
E N D
Preparing for a new baby's arrival is both challenging and exciting, especially for a first-time mom (or dad!). You are most likely being bombarded by a boatload of information, suggestions, and criticism over how you should or should not spend your money. Despite what everyone around you has to say, the most important aspect of decision-making is how you personally feel about what you want to buy for your baby. One of the most essential items is a stroller. Although it might seem like buying one is easy, there are many factors to consider when you need to find the best stroller for your child.
I think the best way to bring your baby along wherever you go is with a travel system, at least when your child is an infant who cannot sit up on his or her own. A travel system comes with a car seat, car seat base, and a stroller. You could strap your baby into the car seat, and then snap the car seat into the stroller. This is convenient because you do not have to worry about waking up a sleeping baby when you want to put him or her in the stroller. This is an easy way to take the baby in and out of the car. However, some of these strollers could be a little bulky and barely fit into your trunk. Also, travel systems are on the pricey side depending on the brand. Personally, I think it would be smart to purchase a stroller and a car seat separately. Almost all Graco car seats fit into any Graco stroller, but the stroller brand does not necessarily have to match the brand of the car seat. Read the labels, and you might be able to cut corners and save some money. When your baby is able to sit up on his or her own, you could use the stroller without having to attach the car seat. Convertible travel systems, therefore, grow with your baby so you do not have to purchase another stroller later down the road. Convenience While Traveling
There are strollers designed with the exercise junkie in mind. If you are someone who works out regularly, your baby could join you. Jogging strollers are made so that babies aren't shaken up while you move at a faster pace than walking. Consider where you jog or run. There are strollers that you could take on different kinds of trails and terrain. The wheels are larger than a standard stroller for a smooth ride along bumpy sidewalks or dirt paths. Jogging strollers are not generally recommended for newborns. They are also bigger and bulkier than standard strollers, so take that into consideration when you want to store it in your trunk. So if you aim to lose that post pregnancy weight, a jogging stroller is the best stroller for you. Do You Lead an Active Lifestyle?
When you go out with your baby, you have to take extra baggage along with you. Specifically, you typically have to bring a diaper bag in addition to your own purse. Depending on how many belongings you like to take with you, the size of the storage bin is important. Some strollers come standard with separate cup holders and trays for mommy and baby. You could add accessories to the stroller if you need more storage for toys, blankets, and bottles. Extra Baggage
If you have two or more kids who need to be in strollers, look into buying double strollers, or strollers that hold multiple children. There are strollers that with side-by-side seats, and ones that seat kids one behind the other. It all depends on how you choose to carry your kids. These are obviously bigger than regular strollers, and they are bulky and heavy. However, the convenience of being able to push your kids all at once makes the weight and size worth it. It so much easier to strap all your kids in than it is to try to juggle all of them with just two arms. Family Size
Strollers could come with canopies to prevent your baby from getting wet in the rain, and they also protect babies from the harmful rays of the sun. Just like cars, shock absorption and brake features are important for strollers. You could also purchase netting to keep the bugs away. Safety First
