APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS RUSTGO Rust Remover utilizes unique chemistry technology to achieve an excellent outcome for the user. • RUSTGO is supplied in a Paste, Liquid or Gel version to provide you with the optimum application for your requirements • RUSTGO Rust Remover is NOT a marine or environmental pollutant. • It is a safe alternative to hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, Phosphoric, Chromium Trioxide or Oxalic acidand other corrosive cleaners. • It will not damage or etch the substrate • For Use On: • Any steel where corrosion is present (Mild steel, Marine Brass, Stainless Steel, Aluminium) • Can be used in dip tanks (the liquid version) • Ideal for in-situ applications (Gel version sprayed or brushed on). • For vertical / horizontal and interior / exterior surfaces • Can be used as a protection agent for long term storage

8. Before and After • Sample Test • Winter conditions using dipping tank • Recent test in winter conditions. The sample chain was badly rusted after many years not being used. • Rust Remover Liquid was poured into dipping tank and the sample placed in the liquid • After 18 hrs the chain was removed and rinsed in cold water. Most of the rust had been removed. • The sample was replaced in the same solution of rust remover for a further 6 hrs. • The sample chain was removed and rinsed again and almost all evidence of rust had been removed. • The test successfully shows that the product actually works.

10. Rust Converter vs Rust Remover. Don't be fooled Is a rust converter good enough? • Rust converter manufacturers claim that it is not necessary to remove rust and that this saves time and money. Some also claim that conversion products adhere tightly to the steel substrate to form a protective barrier that prevents further oxidation (corrosion) and also presents a surface which is suitable for paint application. This is simply not true. • Rust converters do not form a protective barrier and they cannot seal or bind porous, loosely adhering rust on steel. They do nothing to reduce the porosity of the converted rust. Anything that was loose before the conversion will be loose after conversion. The porous surface also inhibits the removal of residual unused acid. Residual acid is often not visible or easily detected. • Rust converters are dangerous acids based on Phosphoric, Chromium Trioxide or Oxalic Acid. They are applied directly onto the affected areas to convert the rust (hydrated ferric oxide) into an insoluble product. • With products based on Phosphoric Acid there is often little or no reaction with the hydrated ferric oxide and residual acid can become trapped under subsequent layers of paint and other coatings. some rust converters only enable a colour change • Clean Ocean RUSTGO products are genuine removers...not merely converters: • Converters turn the substrate black to disguise the rust this should not be confused with galvanizing which will turn black with RUSTGO

Rust Problems in Industry • Corrosion is a worldwide problem that affects the builtenvironment and it isgenerally accepted that corrosion and pollution are interrelated.Many pollutants accelerate corrosion and corrosion products, such as rust, pollute waterways. Both are pernicious processes that impair the quality of the environment, the efficiency of the industry and the durability of the infrastructure assets. • It is estimated that rust can cost between 3.4% and 4.5% of GDP in an industrialised economy, this could be as high as R80bn in South Africa! • Structural problems in steel components include brittleness, reductions in load capabilities. Corrosion also results in increased downtime while steel structures are repaired or replaced and further costs in manufacture of new parts. A corroded heat exchanger will be inefficient, restricting fluid flow anduse more electricity to operate

12. High Risk Industries • Mining Trucks In one recent study it was found that on-highway trucks were being used at mines in off-highway conditions. As mines increasingly contract out parts of their operation many contractors use vehicles which are not specifically designed for the harsh mining environment. Investigations into incidents at mines show that brake defects are a major factor through contamination by abrasive mining dust that causes rapid wear. Many types of dust are acidic, and the corrosive atmosphere creates rust, destroys brake surfaces and seizes linkages. • Food Industry Strict hygiene requirements and procedures mean that the food industry engages in a rigorous cleaning regime. Regular washing means that equipment is often in contact with water, then air, then water again. The possibility of rust becoming a factor is very high. • Transport Industry, Gearboxes and Motors The transit industry, both goods and passengers is only effective when downtime is minimised. Harsh conditions caused by weather and salt affects this sector on an ongoing basis and regular corrosion control is vital. In some harsh environments gearboxes might have to be replaced every six months resulting in added cost in parts and labour. • Marine Industry The harsh, salty environment of marine industries are especially vulnerable to problems caused by rust. Wire ropes, cables and steel pipes on vessels and land equipment such as cranes are weakened and compromised by rust. This leads to safety issues as lives are potentially at risk and jobs and equipment is threatened.

Technical Data Sheet • PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: • RUSTGO Rust Remover Liquid eliminates health and safety risks as it is non-flammable, non-toxic and fully biodegradable • May be used as a dip solution and achieves excellent results, The liquid version of the product can be used in immersion tanks. Is effective for treating rust Grades A, B,C,D and heavy marine rust. • Will work through oils • RECOMMENDED USE: • RUSTGO Rust Removers should be applied onto dry unpainted surfaces. • Product is suitable for interior and exterior applications . • Isa suitable replacement to muriatic acid, other strong acid or caustic based rust removers. • Product is effective in 1-5 hours depending on the condition of the substrate. • Perform a product test patch prior to full application to determine optimum dwell time. • COVERAGE: • It is important to obtain an even coverage in the dip tank • RUSTGO Liquid will not damage s or embrittle seals, rubber or plastics and it will not damage or remove existing paint work • PHYSICAL PROPERTIES: • Colour –Hazy /Transparent pH -2.0 to 3.0 • SG -approx. 1.00Gel Viscosity -9000 to 18000cps. • Flash Point -> 100oC

Technical Data Sheet Cont: • PREPARATION: • Heavy oils and residues should be cleaned prior to application of the product. • On heavily soiled surfaces power washing is recommended to remove loose material. • Protect areas sensitive to chemical and water exposure with masking or a polyethylene plastic. • SITE CONDITIONS: • It is recommended that temperatures are above 5oC. • The product works better at warmer temperatures. Surfaces should be dry. Good ventilation should be provided in confined areas • APPLICATION: • Simply dip and immerse the object to be treated. Check intermittently , remove once rust removal is complete and either pressure wash or wash off. To prevent flash rush apply RUSTGO Rust Remover Gel or other preventative as determined by client • DWELL TIME : • Will vary depending on rust grade, substrate and environmental conditions. • When using chemical removal products the first rule is not to remove them until they have been given time to work. • It is therefore recommended that a minimum dwell of 1 hour should be given. • Rust Removers will turn a dark green colour when activated. It may be reused several times, more if filtered. Please consult us. • Patch tests are very important and must be carried out prior to application.

16. Notes on Rust • Rust grades on steel are classified as A, B, C and D from minimum to maximum by human observers in standard form. • RUSTGO LIQUID is suitable for Rust Grade "A” “B” “C” “D” and Heavy Marine Grade Rust • RUSTGO GEL is suitable for use on light rust where dipping can not be conducted and you require ongoing crust formed protection such as external parts and warehouse inventories • RUSTGO LIQUID GEL is suitable for use on light rust where a more immediate removal and wash off is required

RUSTGO USED FOR STORAGE • RUSTGO Gel (RG) is an excellent product to prevent rust or corrosion on spare parts stored indoors in a warehouse or inventory situation. • It may be used outside,however it will need re-application if it rains continuously • Simply pressure wash the product off when required. RUSTGO Gel and Liquid WILL NOT pit or damage the substrate

22. Comparison with other products we supply • SCALEGO will slightly etch the substrate metal. It is more aggressive on copper than on brass as copper is a softer metal. • RUSTGO will remove scale and will not etch the metal, copper, brass etc.
