  3. It’s raining cats and dogs The student will infer that there is a downpour of some sort.

  4. Put on your thinking cap The student will infer that it is time to concentrate and focus on the task at hand.

  5. Dog tired The student will infer that someone is exhausted.

  6. Have students work in pairs or group to develop their own idiom, along with a picture demonstrating the meaning of their idiom. Activity
