Questions After Act 1 • Find an example of each kind of conflict introduced in the play so far: • Man vs. Man • Man vs. Society • Man vs. Nature • Man vs. Self 2. Go back through the story and find at least 3 examples of indirect characterizations of Scrooge. Refer to your notes to help you.
Questions After Act 2 • At the beginning of the play, Scrooge is a miserable, lonely old man. The Ghost of Christmas Past shows us the events which have made him this way: his childhood at boarding school, his relationship with Belle, and his career at Fezziwig’s. Choose one of the events from Scrooge’s past and discuss how the choice he made affected the course of his life. What could he have done differently? • Go back through and find two examples of where Scrooge expressed remorse. Based on that, what impact do you think this visit from the Ghost of Christmas Past will have on Scrooge?
