  2. Final Solution : Hitler’s plan to kill many Jews using the method of genocide’ : the killing of a whole nation or race.

  3. Hitler’s believed that Non-Aryans (non-Germans) : - Jews, - gypsies, - homosexuals, - the mentally ill, - the disabled were more inferior than the Nazis. After Hitler invaded Poland in 1939, The Füher( leader), Adolf Hitler, sent the SS units( security force) to get all the Jews and took them to an isolated place or pit, where they shot the prisoners.

  4. Those not killed were taken to Concentration Camps. The Life in the concentration camps • Jews had to work 7 days a week. • Jews were beaten brutally • Many died of starvation and disease.

  5. Camps were built in Germany, Poland and places Germans occupied.

  6. 1942, Nazis kill 6,000people a day by poisoning them with cyanide gas in gas chambers. First death camps built in Poland. Took about 30 minutes for everyone in gas chamber to die. Ovens built to burn the corpses Mass extermination

  7. Gas chambers in the Auschiwitz camp killed 12,000 people a day. Over 4 million Jews died all together in the concentration camps. 1 million died in ghettos because of starvation and diseases. Over 1 million were shot to death. The tragic death of the Jews

  8. Dr. Josef Mengele carried out experiments; - tried drugs on prisoners. - froze them to death - put chemicals in children’s eyes - dissection Medical experiments

  9. Between 1941-1945, Jews died in death camps. 6 million Jews died. Fewer than 4 million survived. Non-jewish like Sweden businessman, Wallenberg, and a Protestant, Bonhoeffer, helped Jews to escape to NEUTRAL countries like Sweden and Switzerland. The Survivors of the Holocaust
