assignment sample • Silhouette by Amber Rudolph and Tonya Noerr • Musical animation inspired by Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony in Allegro. • The story takes place at night. There is a music box on top of a dresser in a young woman’s room. As the music box opens, the tune of Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony in Allegro is heard. The ballerina comes to live and dances to the music. As the music intensifies, her shadow on the wall begins to take on its own personality. The shadow continues to grow larger and frightening until its finally pops out on the wall and takes on three-dimensional form. The ballerina backs up in fear, but the shadow continues to toward to her in a similar style of movement. When the ballerina finally reaches the point of being trapped by her shadow, she realizes that the shadow is not really attacking her, but mimicking her movement. At this point of realization, she begins moving toward the shadow and overcoming her fear by taking control. As she takes control of the shadow, the shadow begins to shrank and eventually fades away, an her fear is conquered. 8

Character biography LULU LULU adalah putri tunggal dalam keluarganya. Ia dan ibunya adalah pendatang di desa pahlawan. Ibunya seorang penari dan ayahnya adalah seorang koki kapal pesiar jadi jarang pulang ke rumah. LULU cantik seperti ibunya, berkulit putih pucat dan berwarna dominan merah (pakaian dan bandonya), rambut model Bob, memakai stoking putih dan bersepatu coklat. Ia memiliki asesori bel kecil di kakinya, membuat suara denting apabila sedang mendekati kita. Memiliki peliharaan landak betina bernama JING. LULU selalu penuh rasa ingin tahu sehingga menyebabkan ia banyak bertanya dan lebih jauhnya ia selalu ingin tahu urusan orang. Kreatif dan inovatif. Penuh Energi, selalu dalam keadaan gerak, sikap diam membuatnya mengantuk. Antusias tapi kadang tidak logis. Sifat lugu dan polos membuatnya tak mampu berbohong tapi LULU cukup mahir dalam berakting. Spontan dan ekspresif. Moodnya cepat sekali berubah, selalu berhati riang. Ceroboh dalam bertindak dan berbicara. Berteman dengan siapa saja. Suka beramai-ramai dan juga suka menikmati kesendiriannya. lemah pujian. Selalu menjadi diri sendiri. 29
