Good Things To Know: • Jars must be tightly Closed Without Crushing. • Leave the specified amount of head space in a jar allows a vacuum seal during processing.
How long will canned food keep? • Properly canned food stored in a cool, dry place will retain optimum eating quality for at least 1 year. Canned food stored in a warm place may lose some of its eating quality in a few weeks or months, depending on the temperature
Jars must be sterilized before canning . • Do not use oven for Jams and jellies processing as this can be dangerous because the temperature will vary according to the accuracy of oven regulators and circulation of heat.
Before Storing, WASH jars, lids and bands in hot, soapy water. Rinse well.
