Algebra I Prerequisites It is of great importance that the student performs a serious introspective analysis concerning the weaknesses one may have in Algebra I and make amends as soon as possible! Algebra I & II will be your foundation for the rest of your High School and College Math, and it is not enough to “know”, you must be proficient in all of the main points mentioned in next table.
Grading Scale Tests 40% Regular Quizzes 15% Pop Quizzes 15% Homework Assignments 10% Special Homework Assignments 10% Class Participation 5% School Supplies 5%
Cell Phones Cell Phones need to be turned off and placed inside the backpacks Failure to do this will result in cell phone to be taken away and returned at the end of classes upon receipt of students paper with 25 lines saying “Cell phones are not permitted in classroom” [Never use pen in class]
School Supplies Needed in Class Graphing Calculator [Recommended but not required] Scientific Calculator like the TI-30XS [$12.00-15.00] Composition Book & Stick Glue Binder with College Ruled Paper& Graph Paper 6 Clear Plastic Sheet Protectors 6” Ruler + CircleTemplates Mechanical Pencil & Eraser [Never use pen in class]
Exercises Assignments [HW & SHW] Name: ___________ Due Date / Date In: ________/________ P: ____ Trigonometry Honors Section 1.3, # 1-73 / 4 #1 #5 #9 and so on • Heading of page has to be as shown above All numbers of exercises need to be listed • All assignments received (complete) early will be graded over 105%, on due date will be gradedon 100% upon completion, those received in next class session will be graded based on 90%, next on 80%, next on 50%. After Q/T on the section 30%. • All Assignments to be done with pencil only, and graphs should be done in graph inserts glued or taped to main paper • Make-Up exams depend upon all HW Assignments to be completed. • (Optional) After it is graded, it is to go to the 3-Ring binder
