INTRODUCTION • “ENERGY” is required for the fulfillment of any work to be done. • In this modern era , we are completely dependent on different sources of energy which help us make our work easier. • The tremendous rise in demand for energy has led to the over-exploitation of resources resulting in their depletion .

  3. Continue………. • “ENERGY CRISIS “ is the bottleneck(price rise) in the supply of resources to an economy.

  4. CAUSES…. • Over consumption of resources(Non-renewable). • Monopoly(Extraction of a particular resource). • Poor management. • Poor distribution. • Strikes. • Warfare.

  5. INCREASE IN DEMAND FOR ENERGY……

  6. HISTORICAL CRISIS……. • Oil crisis occurred in 1979 due to Iranian Revolution. • Electric energy crisis in South America ,2008. • Oil price hike due to Gulf War in 1990. • Energy crisis in North Argentine. • Natural gas crisis in North America.

  7. ADVERSE EFFECTS…. • Leads to ecological imbalance. • Over-exploitation leading to pollution at a high scale. • Deforestation on a large scale on account of construction of giant infrastructures. • Destruction of habitats of wildlife.

  9. HOW TO OVERCOME ENERGY CRISIS…? • By making use of alternative ,renewable resources. • Being less dependent on the non-renewable resources. • Opting for long lasting , very economical and ecologically benefiaciting resources . • Conserving energy as well.
