Using Perfect Tenses • The present perfect shows an action or condition that • was completed at one or more indefinite times in the past • The diver has used shark cages before. This time he has brought a new king along. • began in the past and continues in the present • He has waited in this cage for an hour to see a shark.
Using Perfect Tenses • The past perfect shows that an action or condition in the past has preceded another past action or condition: • He had looked everywhere for a shark cage before he discovered Don’s.
