9. 《 Our Members 》 Membership • As at 1 January 2019, the total no. of HKICM members reached 2,902, of which 1,148 are Corporate Members (including Fellows and Members) • Amongst our Corporate Members, over 40% of them also possessing the professional qualification of Architect, Engineer and/or Surveyor, of which: > approx. 3 % are Registered Architects > approx. 53% are Registered Engineers > approx. 60% are Registered Surveyors Brief Introduction of HKICM 9

Brief Introduction of HKICM 12 • A professional practice applied to management activities of the physical construction process within the built environment from project inception to completion; • Including co-ordination, administration, management of resources and related professional services; and • For the purpose of controlling time, cost, scope, quality & safety and compliance with applicable regulations and codes of practice so as to turn the client’s expectation and design into reality.

13. 《 Construction Manager 》 Recognized Technical Qualifications Government department/public authorityaccepted HKICM Corporate Members as technical staff under their contract requirements: • Housing Authority (HA) > recognized as ‘Construction Manager’ for HA Maintenance and Improvement contracts • Architectural Services Department (ArchSD) > favourably considered for acceptance as qualified personnel for ‘Site Agent’ and ‘Site Front Line Supervisor’ for ArchSD contracts • Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC) > recognized as ‘Project Manager’ for HKSTP Main Works contracts In addition, HKICM Corporate Members also widely accepted by employers as qualified professional equivalent to that of other building related professional institutes in Hong Kong, such as HKIA, HKIE and HKIS. Professional Title “Cr” • 《 Construction Manager 》 Brief Introduction of HKICM 17 • Professional title of pre-fix “Cr” was adopted to promote the identity and status of construction manager and construction management profession • All HKICM Corporate Members are entitled to use before their English names the title “Cr” (which is an abbreviation of and pronounced as “Construction Manager”) and 〝營造師〞after their Chinese names • Corporate Members are encouraged to adopt the pre-fix “Cr” in their name cards and official communications

18. “R.C.M.” Registration System • 《 Construction Manager 》 Brief Introduction of HKICM 18 The “R.C.M.” Registration System > Established by HKICM in Dec 2013 with an aim to enhance the professional status of its members > To regulate the registration and disciplinary control of the professional activities of construction managers > Registered Construction Managers (R.C.M.) are assessed to have met stipulated minimum academic, professional and experience requirements who are competence and practising in construction management practices > A person on the Register of Registered Construction Managers is entitled to describe himself as a "Registered Construction Manager" and to use the initials "R.C.M."

19. “R.C.M.” Registration System • 《 Construction Manager 》 Brief Introduction of HKICM 19 • Qualifications for Registration > a Corporate Member of HKICM for 2 years or more > at least 2 years’ relevant professional experience in Hong Kong > ordinarily resided in Hong Kong > with professional qualification recognized by the Construction Managers Registration Board • Register of Registered Construction Managers > Registration was first launched in May 2014 > Up to 24 August 2018, a total of 248 members have been registered as R.C.M. in the Register of Registered Construction Managers

23. 《 Construction Supervisor 》 • Site supervision personnel can have a no. of different job titles, including foreman, site/works supervisor and superintendent (which we classed as Construction Supervisor Member). The duties are typically the same, regardless of the title • Construction Supervisor plans, manages, instructs and directs staff and construction workers to carry out building and civil engineering construction to ensure conformity with contracts, drawings, specifications, workmanship standards and relevant legislation • The role, experience and technical competence of contractors’ supervisory staff is important in ensuring the works carried out by either subcontractors or direct workers are properly done and the quality standards are achieved Brief Introduction of HKICM 23

24. “R.C.S.” Registration System • 《 Construction Supervisor 》 Brief Introduction of HKICM 24 The “R.C.S.” Registration System > Established by HKICM in Dec 2014 to provide for the registration of and disciplinary control of the practitioning activities of registered construction supervisors, and for related matters > Providing a platform for professional recognition and continuing professional training and development for competent construction supervisors > R.C.Ss. are assessed to have met stipulated minimum academic, technical and practical experience requirements who are competence and practising in site supervision practices > A person on the Register is entitled to use the title "Registered Construction Supervisor" and the initials "R.C.S."

25. “R.C.S.” Registration System • 《 Construction Supervisor 》 • Qualifications for Registration > a Construction Supervisor Member or above classes of membership of the Institute for not less than 6 months; and > possesses equivalent qualifications required for a TCP T1 under the Technical Memorandum for Supervision Plan 2009; and > at least 2 years’ relevant construction supervisory experience in Hong Kong; and > ordinarilyresided in Hong Kong; and > competent to practise in construction supervision; and > fit and proper person to be registered.
