Choosing a niche Choosing which niche you are going to go into for this venture is an important decision to make but not as difficult as some people would have you believe If you look on the Clickbank marketplace you will see that there are products for sale in more niches than you can imagine. If you haven’t already got an account, go to Clickbank.com and open one. It is quick and easy to do and there is no cost whatsoever. When it comes to picking a niche it is important that you choose something which is known as evergreen. 9. You will be presented with loads of results, but it is always a good idea to look at each providers feedback from past clients, just as you would when buying something of eBay. Here is a typical example, this person is offering to build a professional website for only $60 with ninety nine past clients giving him an average of five-star feedback. Here’s another example, this person will also create a WordPress website for only $60 and has a feedback score of five stars from over one hundred past clients. You don’t need me to tell you how cheap that it is but if funds are tight, here’s a little tip. Find four or five gigs which are around that price and with good feedback. 10. Domain Name and Hosting You are going to require a domain name and hosting for your website but that will cost you far less than you probably imagine. You will need a domain name which relates to the niche in which you are promoting and if you are struggling to come up with anything, here’s a tip. Got to nameboy.com and insert primary and secondary words relating to your niche. Press the ‘go nameboy go’ button and a selection of available domain names will be presented for you to purchase. The best place to purchase from is Godaddy.com as it is far cheaper but to bring the cost down even further, carry out a simple Google search for ‘GoDaddy discount code’ More often than not you will be able to use one of these codes and get a domain name for under $5 for the year. 12. Website Content Ok, it might take a couple of days for your website to be built so in the mean time you are going to have to write some content to put on the website. Ideally you are going to need about fifteen to twenty articles of around five hundred words each If your alarm bells are ringing again at the very thought of having to do some writing, relax because it is not as difficult as you think. There are a few tricks of the trade which you can use for your content requirements but don’t fall into the trap of thinking that you can just copy content from elsewhere and paste it onto your website. Of course, it is no problem at all if you would rather rewrite the content yourself, but I want to make sure any barriers that you might have previously had in place which could stop you from achieving your goals are well and truly removed! With a couple of days you should have your website and content ready to go. If you have a list of subscribers who you can build up a relationship with you will find that you can more or less make money at will. When I say quality traffic I am talking about traffic which is interested in the niche which you are involved in. I have had people tell me that they have ordered traffic from eBay or even the Black Hat websites, you know the kind of thing I am talking about, 50,000 visitors to the website of your choice for $20 or even less!! They complain that this traffic has not resulted in any sales or sign ups to their autoresponder list but what do they expect? I would much rather have ten visitors to my website who are interested in my niche rather than ten thousand who aren’t. The traffic generation methods which I am going to talk about are easy to implement but much more importantly, they actually work. I would advise that you start with one method at a time and when you have got one method set up and driving traffic, think about adding more. If you have your website set up and populated with content, congratulations, you have already come a long way and further than most newbies who are already looking at the next ‘shiny object’ which no doubt promises the earth but delivers so very little. 18. Traffic Generation – YouTube Uploading videos onto YouTube.com is still a highly effective way to drive traffic to your website. What few marketers seem to realize is that lots of people use YouTube as a search engine in preference to search engines such as Google. Therefore, if you can put up informative videos with a link to your website or offer it can prove to be highly effective. If you are that way inclined, you could make these videos yourself, but you will be pleased to know that they are probably far cheaper than you think to have made on Fiverr.com The whiteboard animation videos are extremely effective as you can easily get your message over and it is possible to get them made for $15 or under at Fiverr.com It is also worth considering distributing your videos to other video sharing sites as well as YouTube. 19. Traffic Generation – Forum posting This is an ‘old school’ technique for generating traffic to your website and it is well worth spending some time doing this yourself because it still works. So many marketers are always looking for new traffic generation methods but completely overlook methods like this which is a shame for them but great news for us. All you have to do is carry out a Google search for online forums in the niches of the product that you are promoting. In our case it is the massive niche of ‘weight loss’ but do yourself a favor and try and think out of the box. As so many people are trying to lose weight, you can target so many forums such as those dedicated to stay at home moms, truck drivers, wedding forums, you get the picture, each one of those groups will have people who are interested in losing weight in one way or another. Keep an eye out for sub forums within the main forum and get involved by asking questions and giving advice if possible. Whatever you do, don’t jump straight in with the link to your website because at best you will be completely ignored, at worst you will be kicked out of the forum. I know it sounds a bit corny but if you are promoting a product, as we are, that actually works, you will be helping people as opposed to just earning money off them. I have seen some products out there which are nothing more than rehashed rubbish and to be perfectly honest, if I was promoting something like that I don’t know how I would be able to sleep at night. When you are using this traffic generation method, don’t think that you have to spend hours trawling through the various forums. Just 15 minutes here and there will be more than enough and when you become established on the forums it is just a case of placing a link to your website in your signature line. 20. Traffic Generation – Facebook Groups A great traffic generation method is by starting your own Facebook group. A Facebook group is extremely easy to set up and the price is right (it’s free!) With a Facebook group it is a good idea to really narrow down your niche. ‘Women who are trying to lose weight before a vacation/ wedding/any event’. ‘Middle age men with hyper tension’, ‘elderly women who want to get active’, the list goes on and on and you are only restricted by your imagination. Setting up a group is especially easy. Just log into your Facebook account or register for one if you haven’t already got one. 21. At this point you should also join similar Facebook groups and just as with posting on forums, get involved. Whilst your own group is getting started it will be pretty quiet but as soon as more people join you will find that it will take little input from you to get the group active and as it is your group, you will be able to put links to your website in the comments. Don’t overdo it though and remember as with most things in life, you get out of it what you put in. Traffic Generation – Pinterest If you are anything like me, you might have thought that Pinterest was something which is only used by teenagers and people who are interested in hobbies like sewing and craft work If so, you couldn’t be more wrong. I couldn’t believe how naïve I was by completely dismissing Pinterest as a form of traffic generation as it is possible to get lots of high quality traffic by following a few simple steps. If you Google the term ‘Pinterest traffic’ for more information you will see various high end courses which are offered by the internet marketing gurus which promise to show you how to tap into this highly lucrative technique. Don’t worry about buying any courses though because I will go through the simple steps that you need to take to get traffic to your website by using Pinterest. Open a Pinterest account if you don’t already have one If you are not familiar with how Pinterest works, they have some great guides in their help section, but it is all very straightforward.  Pick a niche along with a relevant Clickbank product (If you are following along with me, you will know that we are operating in the weight loss niche)  You will need to create what are called ‘boards’ and make at least ten of these boards, each one on a different sub niche of the main niche. In our case we could create boards on ‘lose belly fat safely’, lose weight for my wedding’, ‘I hate being unfit’ etc  Every day, look for around thirty images on the web which are related to your boards and pin them. 23.  Everyday re pin another thirty images  Each day, comment on between thirty and forty pins. This will help with exposure to your account  Each day, like between thirty and forty pins. You will find that people will like you back which will increase exposure to your account.  Each day, follow up to one hundred users, most of these will follow you back. If you actually follow these steps you will generate traffic to your website. There is no getting away from the fact that these steps can be a little on the boring side, but it won’t seem boring when the traffic converts to sales. Traffic Generation – SEO I thought that it would be a good idea to mention SEO (search engine optimization) but you should be aware that it is more of a long term traffic generation method as opposed to the other methods which we are talking about in this eBook. SEO is an ever changing playing field with some SEO companies charging an arm and a leg to optimize your website but if you keep it nice and simple and carry out a few steps you will find that over time you will start to receive organic traffic from your basic SEO efforts. If you are not familiar with SEO, it basically comprises various techniques which will help a website rank highly in the search engines when certain keywords and phrases are searched for. If you have followed the advice which was given earlier on in the eBook about getting content rewritten for your website, you will already have the basics of SEO in place. Your next steps would be to get back links to your website and there are many ways in which you can do this. You could start by looking for blogs in the same niche and asking if it would be possible to write them a guest post which a link back to your website. You will soon know if a pay per click campaign is profitable or not and if it is, it is just a case of ramping it up and increasing the profits. As you may have guessed, it can all be a bit of a minefield but if you choose a reputable Clickbank product to promote you will sometimes find that the vendor has done a lot of the legwork for you in terms of the kind of adverts that work best as well as the best converting keywords. Using the powers of Facebook you will be able to target people of a certain age with certain interests and your adverts will appear on their Facebook timeline whilst they are browsing.
