What is Puppetry ? • The art of making puppets or having puppet shows. Puppets can be made tin cans, tongue depressor, socks, and other inexpensive materials.
Why is Puppetry important ? • Puppetry has played an important role in plays and shows, knowledge in most parts of the world. Puppetry has elements of all art forms such as literature, painting, sculpture, music, dance, drama and enables students to develop their creative abilities.
What’s the purpose of puppetry ? • the purpose of Puppetry is to entertain people with an object without been seen. • Puppets have always appealed to young children.
Puppetry • Dramatic Play & Puppetry – One of the best way children have to express themselves is through creating dramatic play. • Children can deal to learn with their anxiety as well as act out their fantasies through creative dramatic play.
Types of Puppets • Puppet types include hand, mascot, and “me” puppets. The value of each type depends upon the needs and interests of the children.
Hand Puppet • Hand puppets are easiest to use since no strings or rods need to be worked. • Hand puppets can be held in front of the face or over the head.
Mascot Puppets • A Mascot puppet is typically large. • A mascot puppet is the classroom all year. Mascot puppets can be used in many classroom routines.
