Check my needs • If I don’t have any needs as stated then why should I worry? • A person with no aim is just an animal • If you don’t want to be an animal then you need to have some ambitions • If my ambitions are to get good marks at exam which is nearly two years ahead so can’t I use ajj kare so kal kal kare so parso fikir kyo karta yar jina hai barso. • Even with this attitude you can’t do well because your competition is tough and the pattern is changed. Competitive examination with at least 122 topics to be recalled in a day and all the three subjects with examination of six hours. • So you need to have some pattern of studies for three subjects

  5. How to start • As if some one says to you I need to manage my finance, you will ask about his income and expenditure. If his expenses are more than income you have two solutions • Increase income • Reduce expenditure • With time, income is fixed 24 hours a day. • So to manage time you need to reduce expenses. Means you need to save the time • but how? • First put an audit of time-- Nitin Oke

  6. Audit of time What you do? Time needed • Fill the following table up to gap of one minute. For at least a week. Attain college Attain class Do studies Perform Personal works as teeth cleaning, bath, lunch, dinner, natural calls Sleep for Watching TV Games / exercise Chitchatting Else if any Total 24:00

  7. Splitting the events • It is always better to split the events in to four types as— Urgent and important Non urgent and important Urgent and non important Non urgent and non important

Evaluation of events Urgent and important • These events are responsible for increasing stress • Rushing to doctor after illness, • realization of vehicle problem just before going, • not getting rickshaw and getting late, • natural calls in unfavorable conditions, • to prepare just before examination • We can not avoid these events but due to their urgency the may get spoiled. • Try to forsite these events and avoid them. Evaluation of the events Urgent and non important • We do few a things which are non important but urgent. • Receiving a phone call while studding • To watch a TV programme suggested by a friend • To read a SMS • Doing some work told by senior like prepare tea or guide the guest • Going with friends for a movie or outing • Shaving, make up • Drawing figures in class room which are in books • These events create more psychological pressure after completion as we keep on thinking why we did this? We loose this time unknowingly. • Playing computer games • Watching TV • Internet chat • Mobile talk • Looking into mirror observing oneself • Day dreaming • Talking with friend at gate • Lying on bed even if not feeling sleepy day & night • Sorting old note books, experimenting on oneself • Indirect cause of stress. Evaluation of the events Non urgent and important • Events where we seek excuses and create problems • Study at beginning of year • Increase in pending work like, memory maps, formulae, numerical problems, • Doing some physical exercise, • Creating good habits • Writing practical record on the same day, • Wear and tear of vehicle • Postponement of almost every work • Events where time can be saved with proper planning Non urgent and important

My suggestion for plan • Understand the topic to understand that you have understood either think with yourself or give seminar or explain it to some one. • As a portion of topic is done solve problems topic wise from booklet and note down important problems in note book. • DON’T WAIT TILL TOPIC GETS OVER • Some topics are understanding base and some are practice base. • Prepare memory map and show it to others or teachers. • After every examination and problem solving top up your memory map. • Solve the questions for state syllabus also as your study proceeds further.   14. Need of regular revisions - - - • Don’t be prejudiced by previous performance. When I did my tenth I studied only for X Y Z hours and I got P Q R % and so on and so on - - - at that time questions were fixed. • You need to look at next graphs before you start preparing - - - Nitin Oke

In short • EDR: Revise all topics which are done on that day itself means topics done on 1st to be revised on 1st , done on 2nd to be revised on 2nd - - - topics done on 6th to be revised on 6th • WR: Revise all topics done during 1st to 6th on 7th assuming that 7th is non instructional day this is called as weekly revision. • MR: On 30th when four weeks are complete revise all topics done during 1st to 30th .

  20. Other way to save time Study for 8 hours with 50% concentration Effective study is 4hours Study for 5 hours with 80% concentration Effective study is 4hours

  21. How “concentration” changes • Add • intensions, • determinations, • sincere efforts • systematic development of well defined systems • Keep your mind in present • don’t think of past or future Nitin Oke

To increase Concentration • Remove other stimuli's • Exercise regularly mind concentration techniques, • When we are exited recall the symptoms avoid those symptoms by efforts. • controlled Breathing • Deep breathing • Closing all sensory organs “ Relaxation” • General reading for relaxation, using experiences of others • Play physical games to maintain body machine
