  3. 3D Studio Max • 3ds Max design software provides powerful, integrated 3D modeling, animation, rendering, and compositing tools. • $3,495 • Original version came out in 1990, 3D Studio Max came out in 1995. • Has been used on games such as Gears of War, Bioshock, and Uncharted. • Uses .MAX format

Autodesk Maya • Developed by Alias Systems Corporation and Autodesk • It is used to create interactive 3d applications, including video games, animated film, TV series or visual effects • It came out in February 1998 • Maya is still used today and cost around 3,495.00 • You can get free trials but nothing more • Can be used in Microsoft Windows , Mac OS, and Linux • The newest version is Maya 2012 Maya is one of the best products for 3D animation, it is newer and has more tools and controlling options than most other software products

Bryce • First came out in 1994 • The last update was in July 2010 (Bryce 7) • You can download Bryce for free • It is used for 3D landscaping and animation • It can be used for any Windows and all the Mac operating systems • It has been sold and changed by many different companies • Right now the developer is DAZ 3D • It originally was from work with fractal geometry to make images of mountain ranges and coastlines

  7. 3D Flash Animator • Used to create animations, websites, and games • You can currently buy this for 49.95 • Its newest version is Version 4.9 • It came out in 1996 • Flash is still used today • It uses painting, animation (obviously including 3D), scripting which can make you control everything in a movie, game development, and database support • It is made to be simple and easy to control • Run by Adobe Flash
