OBJECTIVES WCI - Antico • INCREASING OF CONFIDENCE, POLITICAL LEADING SKILLS AND GENDER SENSIBILITY FOR WOMEN THAT WERE CANDIDATES ON ELECTION LISTS OF POLITICAL PARTIES. • INITIATING OF PUBLIC ACTIVISM, NETWORKING, SELF- ORGANIZATION AND MOTIVATION OF WOMEN FOR POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT AND UNDERTAKING A ROLLS AND ACTIVITIES IN LEADING POSITIONS. • INFLUENCE IN IMPROVEMENT OF WORK OF INSTITUTIONAL MECHANISMS FOR ACHIEVEMENT OF GENDER EQUALITY (ESTABLISHING AND FUNCTION OF GENDER COMMISSIONS ON LOCAL LEVEL) • SUPPORT OF WOMEN CANDIDATES FOR PARLIAMENT MEMBER • TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF FEMALE VOTERS DURING THE PARLIAMENTARIAN ELECTIONS 2006 AND INCREASING OF THE PERCENT OF THE VOTING POLL ENTRANCE OF WOMEN; • TO DEVELOP A CONCEPT OF SELF-ORGANIZING THE WOMEN’S ACTIVISTS FROM NGO IN STRONG VOTING BODY THAT GIVES SUPPORT OF THE FEMALE CANDIDATES; • TO PREVENT FAMILY VOTING THROUGH INCREASING THE INFORMATION OF WOMEN ABOUT THEIR VOTING RIGHTS, PROCESS AND VOTING PROCEDURE. TARGET GROUP(S) WCI - Antico • PRIMARY TARGET GROUP (DIRECT BENEFICIATES) 220 WOMEN: 139 (63.18%) POLITICAL PARTIES; 50 (22.7%)NGO; 1 (0.4%) BUSINESS; 3 (1.36%) MEDIAS; 5(2.27%) COUNCILOR FROM LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND OTHER 22(10%). • SECONDARY TARGET GROUP: 818 WOMEN AND MEN PARTICIPANTS ON LOCAL ACTIONS, POLITICAL PARTIES, MAJORS, WOMEN AND MEN IN GOVERNMENTAL INSTITUTIONS, PARLIAMENT AND INSTITUTIONS AND WIDER PUBLIC. • WOMEN VOTERS FROM 84 MUNICIPALITIES AND CITY OF SKOPJE (40 RURAL AND 45 URBAN MUNICIPALITIES); • 2125 WOMEN WORKSHOPS PARTICIPANTS FROM ETHNICAL BACKGROUND: MACEDONIANS, ALBANIANS, SERBIANS, TURKISH AND VLACH; • INDIRECTLY FEMALE CANDIDATES OF THE PARLIAMENTARIAN ELECTIONS 2006; • SECONDARY TARGET GROUP OF BENEFICIARIES ARE FAMILY MEMBERS OF THE PARTICIPANTS, POLITICAL PARTIES AND ELECTED FEMALE CANDIDATES. ACTIVITIES WCI - Antico • ESTABLISHING CONTACTS AND COOPERATION WITH 15 POLITICAL PARTIES 10 DEPARTMENTS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT – MAYORS, COUNCILLORS, CANDIDATES FOR PARLIAMENT MEMBERS • SIGNING MEMO OF COOPERATION WITH POLITICAL PARTIES • ORGANIZATION AND CONDUCTING 10 TWO-DAY SEMINARS “WOMEN CAN DO IT” • IMPLEMENTATION OD 6 PUBLIC ACTIONS WITH 30 DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES FOR LOBBING AND ADVOCACY – PUBLIC DEBATES, TRIBUNES, TV SHOWS, ORGANIZATION OF STREET AND MEDIA CAMPAIGNS • RESEARCH AND PRINTING 10.000 PROMOTION MATERIALS, • MEDIA AND PUBLIC PRESENTATION OF THE WOMEN CANDIDATES FOR PARLIAMENTARY MEMBERS • EVALUATIVE SEMINAR • NATIONAL SEMINARS TOT (100 FEMALE ACTIVISTS); • LOCAL WORKSHOPS IN ALL 84 MUNICIPALITIES AND CITY OF SKOPJE WITH 25 PARTICIPANTS-WOMEN VOTERS. TOTAL NUMBER OF THE PARTICIPANTS AT WORKSHOPS 2125 WOMEN’S; • PUBLISHING AND DISSEMINATION OF THE 10 000 COPIES OF VOTING MANUAL AT ALL THE LANGUAGES OF ETHNICAL COMMUNITIES IN MACEDONIA; • BUILDING THE NETWORK FROM 200 EDUCATED NGO’S FEMALE ACTIVISTS IN LOCAL LOBBY GROUPS LIKE FEMALE VOTING BODY TO PROMOTE THE FEMALE CANDIDATES IN PE 2006; • FOLLOW UP OF ELECTED FEMALE MP’S. RESULTS WCI - Antico • 220 PARTICIPANTS WERE TRAINED THROUGH 10 TWO-DAY WCDI WORKSHOPS; • FROM THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS OF THE 4 WCDI SEMINARS 15, 38% WERE ELECTED IN THE PARLIAMENT AND TODAY ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING IN WORK OF MACEDONIAN PARLIAMENT • FROM WHOLE NUMBER OF WOMEN ELECTED AS A REPRESENTATIVE IN OUR PARLIAMENT (33) 12, 12 % WERE PARTICIPANTS OF FOUR REALIZED WCDI SEMINARS FROM ANTICO. • FROM WOMEN THAT WERE PARTICIPANTS ON WCDI SEMINARS, 97 WOMEN OR 44, 06% SHOWN WILLINGNESS FOR NETWORKING, • ESTABLISHING OF 6 INTERSECTIONAL INFORMAL NETWORKS IN 6 LOCAL COMMUNITIES (PRODUCT OF WCDI SEMINARS IN TETOVO, STRUMICA, KICEVO, DEBAR, PRILEP, RESEN) AND INITIATING OVER 30 ACTIVITIES FROM THOSE NETWORKS WITH PARTICIPATION OF 818 PARTICIPANTS. • AS A RESULT OF LOCAL ACTIONS , ORGANISED 5 ROUND-TABLES, 3 RESEARCHES, LOBBING AND PUBLIC ADVOCACY; PRINTED 10.000 MATERIALS FOR EDUCATIONAL AND PROMOTIONAL PURPOSE., • 28 MEDIAS COVERS WCDI ACTIVITIES WITH 43 ARTICLES/TV SHOWS • 100 FEMALE EDUCATED ACTIVISTS – TRAINERS; • 2125 EDUCATED WOMEN’S VOTERS; • 10 000 INFORMED WOMEN’S ABOUT THE VOTING RIGHTS; • NETWORK FOR PROMOTING AND LOBBYING FOR THE FEMALE CANDIDATES; • 37 ELECTED FEMALE MP’S IN MACEDONIAN PARLIAMENT. RECOMMANDETIONS • THE KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER DELIVERY AND INCREASING THE INFORMATION ABOUT GENDER CONCEPT OF WOMEN AND WIDER PUBLIC IN MACEDONIA, IT IS CONSIDERED AS NEED TO BE WORKED IN CONTINUITY. • TO CONTINUE WITH IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT WCDI- BASIC SEMINARS AND WOMEN IN FOCUS • CONSTRUCTION OF A SUPERSTRUCTURE OF KNOWLEDGE’S AND FACILITATING SKILLS OF TRAINERS THAT ARE INVOLVE IN THE PROJECT AND INCLUDING NEW TRAINERS (TOT) • ORGANIZING MORE SEMINARS IN RURAL CIRCLES • THE OPPORTUNITY FOR EXCHANGE FROM NORWEGIAN PROGRAM ‘WCDI’ AND THEIR APPLICATION DUE TO POLITICAL EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN IS APPLICATIVE AND WITH REALISATION OF THIS PROGRAM GIVE HIGH RESULTS. • TO CONTINUE WITH ACTIVITIES AND PROCESS OF LOBBING AND PUBLIC ADVOCACY IN POLITICAL PARTIES AND RELEVANT GOVERNMENTAL INSTITUTIONS IN DIRECTION OF INFLUENCE IN INCREASING OF PUBLIC AND POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT OF WOMEN AND THEIR ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN DECISION MAKING POSITIONS. • TO CONTINUE WITH REGIONAL COOPERATION AND EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCE
