The “Bathtub” During mid-late 90s career field overmanned TPR reduced, early out programs initiated Fallout: 50% or below required supervisors Many facilities reduced operating hours The Need Qualified military controllers to fill AEF taskings Overseas & remote rotation requirements Line controllers to relieve manning shortage Interim/temporary watch supervisors Experienced trainers and mentors WHY CIVILIAN CONTROLLERS? Employees are expected to comply with reasonable dress and grooming standards based on comfort, productivity, health, safety, and type of position occupied.
